The reason why is becuase

Gaming World of Warcraft + Starcraft 2

Browsing + mobile and awesome screen size

Backlit keyboard YAY!!!!! Im happy now!

Awesome machine made me abandon my Macbook Pro i7 256SSD lol

Macbook Pro 11" 2010 Ultimate because it was $600! As I mentioned on some threads, it actually runs Lion perfectly even when being UPGRADED from Snow Leopard.

It's a great travel companion when needing to get work done flying out of town,

I got the 2011 13-inch MacBook Air i5 with 256GB SSD. It replaces my 15-inch MacBook Pro from 2007. I figured it was finally time to upgrade that old, but reliable Mac. Having an 11-inch 2010 MBA spoiled me, but I chose the 13 with the 256SSD since it was going to be my primary Mac. I didn't go for the i7 because the performance increase wasn't that much, according to the reviews. I'm not editing video and large photos on it anyway.

I've owned three MBA's to date.

1. My original 1.6GHz C2D nvidia 9400m(lost due to screen damage, replaced)
2. 2.13GHz C2D nvidia 9400m 128gb SSD (June 2009)

and now, my late 2010 2.13 GHz, nvidia 320m, 4GB RAM, 256GB SSD 13" model.

For me it was weight, I'm a network administrator and the occasional gamer on the go, and having an nvidia GPU, along with less than 3 lbs weight was a big, big selling point.

I'm just not a fan of the Intel HD3000 integrated GPU, and while I lament the loss of my keyboard LEDs, I'll be sticking with my nvidia integrated graphics for a while. A Core 2 Duo is fine for my needs right now.

I bought the $999 model... because It was just right for me considering I'm 14... lol

11" 128/4. Don't need the extra battery or screen size of the 13". However a case can certainly be made that you might as well get the base 13" if you are considering the upper 11" model. Not a big difference in price.

For me the 11" MBA is the perfect size and weight of a notebook. Don't feel I'm making any sacrifices with the screen either.

I bought the 11.6" Highend MacBook Air because I wanted the smallest size out there and it's a pretty powerful machine.
I keep my iTunes + iPhoto library on a network drive but they are aliases in the original music + photos folder. My on the go external drive is named the same as my network drive so the aliases always work.
The i5 Processor has multithreading so in essence it uses 4 cores.
The 128GB (120GB) Drive has 60GB left and 60GB Used (Exactly) and that holds my video editing graphics, all my Apps etc.
The idea is I can edit with 5 projects and events at a time then I throw them on to my NAS Backup drive.

I ended up with a 13 basic. I have an 11 but might sell it.

I had the 11 for a year and they are great. But it's time for a change.

(BTW, I got the 83dksoe SSD, and the Pfue893j screen. I'm so lucky :) )

I got the 11" ultimate (i7, 256gb). I love this machine, best computer I've ever had.

I got it because I'm on the road all through my job. I have an iPad, but there are certain things I can't do on it, that i need a full computer for. I tried with my 13" dell sxps 1340, which is on par with the 13" macbook pro, but it was just always a hassle getting it ready to take with me (get the bag ready and bringing a power supply). With the 11" i don't have to worry about that, I just grab it and go, I don't even have to worry about power supple as the battery has lasted all day for what I need to do.

It has definitely replaced the iPad for me in this sense unless I have to do iPad specific tasks. I went high end, because it is my only computer, I don't like having to worry about where my information or programs are, I don't want to be out somewhere and want to do something, but then have to wait to get home to use another computer.

The 2011 13" MacBook Air, with i5 and 256GB SSD.

I need the storage capacity and screen size, but not the additional cpu power from the i7. Hence an easy choice.

I bought the 1.7/4gb/128 13” model and haven’t been disappointed in the least. Sold my 15” 2011 MBP and don’t really miss a thing. Well maybe the lack of an optical drive as I still need to port my CD collection to iTunes. Love the faster speed, the portability, the backlit keyboard and the resolution is exactly the same without taking up nearly as much space.

11.6 - i5 / 128 / 4gig

It's the highest model Best Buy carries..
Traded in an old MBP which gave me a credit of $600 bucks. Would have loved to pick up an ultimate though. :(

I called up Apple to see if they would let me swap it with them (new in box) - they laughed in my face.. . Called best buy corporate - they have no idea if they're gonna carry the i7s in the future..

The Macbook Air 13" Intel Core i7 256GB, I always have a lot of things on my hard disk and i7 because in small thing you need to have all the power.

I had a MBP 13" 2011 and i sell it when i know MBA are almost or are faster than MBP in some tasks. I was very lucky because I sold it like a new and i just had to put a few money to get this precious.

By the way Today i was looking the duration of the baterry and yes!
It give me 6 hours and it has 10%. I decided to plug it again, i dont like to see 9% battery xD only wifi on and 50% brigthness.

2011 13" i7 . Just figured if I'm going to spend this much money on a product, might as well spend a couple hundred more and get the top of the line device.

13" i5 / 256GB

I couldn't get away with an 11 as my main PC, the screen just isn't big enough (vertically especially), my old MB which this has replaced had the 1280x800 which was a little on the short side.

I didn't buy the i7 because I felt the extra 8-10% performance boost wasn't necessary, given I'm already getting such a significant speed boost on my old C2D. I did buy the 256GB HDD as I have some 80GB of music which I like having access to on the move, and when you throw in other files into the mix the 128GB would have left me with about 2GB free space once migrated.

Great machine though, just I'm really disappointed with Lion so far.

Got the i5, 11", 128gb macbook air.

I was going to get the "best " 11" macbook air, but decided the i5 was enough power for my needs, plus going by what people are saying on here, the i7 makes it get hotter and drains battery life quicker.

By FAR the best computer i have had.

Going to use it for AUTOCAD when i'm home, note taking for college, web viewing, music and video consumption etc.

only this I'm disappointed in (not about the air ) is the mac app store, it's CRAP, not a lot of apps which is surprising but opening up the app store always seems to give me beach balls.

13" i5 128 ssd

why?
larger screen, resolution + still light in weight
sd card reader
longer battery life
I have ipad so no need for 11"
128 ssd forces me to back up my data :).
Money saved not buying the 256gb can go towards a NAS to store/retrieve data if need be + cloud storage

My 13" 128 just came today, but I have not even unwrapped it. The more I think about it, the more I want the 256. So I am gonna pop by the Apple Store tonight and pay up the difference to get my extra (expensive as hell) memory upgrade.

I guarantee you will never complain about having too much SSD space... ;)

11" Ultimate for me. I came from a 2010 11" and thus had made do with the 128GB SSD, but it was getting a little tight with my Boot Camp partition and I wanted to store more media, so I went with the 256GB drive. Perhaps I could have gotten by with the i5, but the i7s were in the store on Day 1, and I don't mind having the extra power.

In 2011 it probably won't matter, but this one is a keeper for me so I'm guessing with the i7 when 2013 rolls around I won't be nearly as jealous of the Rev G owners with their Haswell-powered 11" Airs that manage to get 6 hours of battery life and twice the processing power. At least that's what I'm telling myself now. :D

I bought the 2010 13" 128 SSD, and tomorrow I am supposed to take delivery of the New 11" i5 128 SSD. I am trading in my 13" but not before I do side by side comparison.
