Thanks, Mod.

I wish Space Gray was actually black. I know black aluminum is difficult to produce because they're so susceptible to scratches.

The gold looks nice. But I feel like its meant for people who either have a gold $ around their neck or "JUICY" written on their ass.

Nothing against those people but as a white male I feel like I would seem like I'm reaching for something I'm not.

So space grey it is!

Life's too short to live in fear of what other people might think of you.

I'm not getting one at all, and I don't like the gold one but...GOLD IS BEST!

But if I did get one...Space Gray :)

Exactly, The first gen Macbook should be fairly rare given its pricing of upwards $1,300+ for a computer with the performance of a $199 Netbook. But Playa's gonna play! They be struttin that Gold Macpad all through the Starbucks... Everyone else is going to want the much anticipated Space Gray and will be puttin' a clear case on it. ;)

I would get the Gold one. But wish they would have gone traditional Macbook white! (A nice Satin White like the original eee netbook)

I haven't decided yet, I'll wait until I can see them IRL. The only sure thing is thet I'm not getting a gold one in a million years.

I will most likely get gold. I think it's slick (and way better than the gold iDevices, with the white fronts).

But it also happens to be my last name, so people will actually give me crap for NOT getting the gold one. :D

The keyboard contrast on the Gold one is excellent, whereas it just blends too much into Space Gray.

Much appreciated. Do you think the space gray MacBook will scratch and chip easily, just like many have been experiencing with their space gray Apple products?

------

That said, I bet the space gray will sell out fast :)

maybe you are confusing, but the black-slate iphone5 had that problem and not the space grey.
So it's ok space grey

I am to be honest, I wonder if the manufacturing process is any different with apply the space gray then the old fashioned aluminum color.

The gold isn't as bad as I thought, it is a very muted, soft colour and not a harsh tone as I first thought. I need to see it for myself.

It's gold all the way for me. I don't care how cool people will think I am. Its like that evil character from Austin powers.

Johann van der Smut.

"I love gold"

I actually suspect even silver machines have been anodized all these years for consistency?

I'm far from convinced that I'll be buying one of these, but if I do, I guarantee it'll be standard silver aluminum. I don't need to be rubbing the fact that I just bought one of these things in everyone's faces. ;)

Having said that, I bet the gold is a stunner.

I think I've changed my mind. Gold is my favorite with black being my second favorite option. I have a gold iPad. I usually don't rock gold so hard...but I just like it alot more now.

Gold is a warm, more optimistic color than silver or black. I like old synthesizers that have wood panels. It's the closest color to nature that Apple has made in aluminum.
