Fisk, funny but not hilarious. I like Aussie TV shows.
We too. We found the first episode of Fisk the funniest, but the humor quotient went downhill for us for the rest of the episodes. There were the occasional hysterical situations but they were such a few of them. I noticed this was mostly a showpiece for the star, Kitty Flanagan, who created it, stars in it, directs it, writes it, and has executive producer credits. So if you like Kitty and her brand of situational comedy, you’ll like Fisk. Season two is completed though not yet available, at least not through Netflix in the US.

The exact same feeling, it goes downhill but it’s still watcha. I’m now starting the season 2, now.

It’s not easy to find funny shows, these days. It’s all drama and horrible story (I couldn’t stand The Last Flowers of Alice Hart).

You probably have a particular sense of humor making it hard to cater too. You're a high brow humor person, amiright?🧐 I, OTOH, have a very broad strike zone when it comes to humor. I enjoy everything from low brow to high brow, slap sticks to dad jokes to Shakespearian insults to nerdy science jokes.

The only humor I don't enjoy is the kind that's offensive or hurtful of others. Pranks are almost never funny in my book so a show like Jackass is a hard pass.

When you have AI writing stories.🙄 Is it any wonder a good writer gets paid more than a good actor? Not even the best actors can make bad writing look good. eg. The Big Wedding. How can a show featuring Robert DeNiro, Diana Keaton, Susan Sarandon AND Robin Williams be that bad?😵 But a good writer can make a mediocre actor look good. e.g. A high school's production of Romeo and Juliet.

There are quite a lot of them, such as Ted Lasso, Hacks, Grace and Frankie, Acapulco, the Marvelous Mrs. Mazel, Sex Education, Clarkson's Farm, etc. Hard to find them though.
Thanks for the suggestions. I already watched Ted Lasso and only the 1st season was fun. I really enjoyed it. For the others, I’ll try them.

So far in funny shows I liked, there was Silicon Valley, BARRY (although some impressive drama), Unstable, Shrinking, Mythic Quest (season 1 only), The White Lotus (season 1 only), Resident Alien (season 1 only), Kevin can **** himself, Wellington Paranormal (really funny one, I love it!), Eastbound & Down, Vice Principals, The Gemstones Family (I like Danny McBride stuff), Parks & Recreation, Fleabag (so so so funny), Veep, Catastrophe, Californication, House of Lies, The Wrong Mans and the Brink.

I use an app to track my shows so that’s helpful.

I'm never sure where to put this one but...

It is a tv series on dizznee ... right? Watching again...

Not my typical post on the matter.

I started watching Hijack on TV+. I shut it down after 30 mins of episode 1. The level of sloppy writing is just off the charts. Spoilers ahead. Not only I have to believe that someone that finds a bullet left by a terrorist in the airplane restrooms (an already sloppy tension creator plot device) but that she just tells a random stranger (which surprise… is a terrorist l!) and not any of the crew. Then, and this is where I shut it down yelling at the screen, I have to believe that in a post 9/11 world a pilot who knows what is going on in the airplane (and even says that if the terrorists get in they will all die) decides to open the secure and bulletproof cockpit’s door - after fighting and beating up his female copilot to a pulp - because a crew member is also his secret lover and tells him “I love you please open the door.” And I hope that the pilot doesn’t turn up being a terrorist too because that would be even sloppier.

Just lazy writing.

That's EXACTLY what I shouted at, what I was annoyed with, what I thought was incredibly lazy writing AND what made me turn it off too, never to see it again!
Glad to see I wasn't alone lol.

Well tonight's the night I'll start watching the new series of Invasion.... will it be any better than the last? Place your bets now...

The Witcher went downhill fast after a great first season. I too am struggling to finish the third one. I have two episodes left but it feels like a chore.
B*gg**. I’ve not got to the end of series 1 yet and I’m struggling. I might move to Invasion

where is this? Which of the billion streaming services? I would like to watch and give it a shot.
Ha - I swear things are listening as soon as I hit post, I got my notification that season 2 of Invasion is on Apple TV + - it's been so long since I watched this and now I remember how bad it was - yes, I will give it a shot, but I totally forgot about this show after Surface (stopped after 1 episode) and Foundation (I never read the books so I didn't really get this version). Completely forgot about Invasion but after I got the notification, now I know and will see if I can get through it.

Ok, so I watched the first episode of season 2 last night, and was surprised by it. Still has some of the same daft characters, but they have some new ones showing promise. Writing seems a bit better, and it actually had some action in it! Whilst also still feeling slow paced 😂🤦‍♂️
But overall I actually enjoyed it. Still not sure about the alien design, like spikey rabid dogs. Let’s see how it goes. At least they have smartly moved the story on so it’s now after the initial invasion.

That's a good summary and I feel a bit the same here. This is also how I would describe my thoughts on it also.

Just finished watching Hit & Run on Netflix. Good series, but had an odd ending. Apparently it was supposed to continue into a second season, but it was cancelled.
