I finished One Piece and it was great! Loved the music, the ambience and the actors played very well, with lots of action, adventure and friendship, these are classic theme but so great. A bit of family drama, due to the past of main characters but it’s not too obvious.

Definitely my favorite new show of 2023, with Gen V, Shrinking, Beef, The Diplomat, Poker Face and The Consultant.

What’s your top 5 from 2023?

Did it work as a standalone series? Or did you need to have seen the animated series or books first?

I wrote this earlier:

I saw the two premiere episodes of Legacy of Monsters. I liked it, it seems (for once) the people characters are fleshed out just as well as the monsters (special shout out to that creep-i-fying daddy long legs spider monster in the beginning). Though the jumping between time lines might be a bit jarring for some.

But I am looking forward to the rest of it.
just caught up tonight and loved it.. bit gutted they have staggered the releases weekly! I was all set for a 3am binge lol

We are waiting for the last three episodes of "The Irrational". Surprisingly interesting. Just thinking, it may be an American take on the British "Professor T" which was a British take on Belgian show of the same name.

Have finished --
  • Season 8 of Shetland
  • Season 2 of Annika
  • Season 3 of Picard
Tried Bass Reeves, too gory.

I love me some good Godzilla action, so I will be checking out Apple TV+'s Legacy of Monsters. It debuts Friday Nov 17th and will be my first Apple TV+ show I watch. It's got a 91 on Rotten Tomatoes critics review so far.

(I'm a sucker for old Japanese monster and sci-fi movies)
wow! I really like it as well...

.. into another viewing (via dvd) of 'Line of Duty' .. it has been a good while since first viewed, so 'almost' looks new-to-me ... some memories, but so much more forgotten ... gripping, investigative British police drama.

Wwo, that was amazing and despite what some manga readers said the ending was perfect. Too bad for GoT fans and former SW fans like myself. I am really shook, will probably change my avatar at some point.
I finally watched the final part of the final part of the final season.😁 I have to agree, the ending was awesome and believable--very believable. The aftermath Yeagerist mirrors Nazi Germany, down to spiffy black uniforms. The ending credit mirrors what happened to Berlin in WWII.

I hated the Yeager boys. Hated Zek from the get go and Eren by season 4. Still hate Zek.😠 But Eren, I feel sad for him; what a tragic character.😢

Finally, Potato Girl.🥰🥰

Did you notice that Hitch was yawning during the military parade? Flegel and the two journalists didn't look too happy either. I see what you mean about mirroring historic events but the destruction seems to take place in the far future. My head canon is one frame with many pillars of smoke (before the modern stuff) is the Yeagerists getting overthrown. I hated Zeke too and especially Floch. Agree for Eren.

Levi was awesome until the end and how he and Mikasa took down Eren. That sequence was animated with the help of the same guy who animated Levi vs. Kenny in season 3 and the first fight against Zeke.

As I wrote above I am reflecting what to change my avatar to now as well, maybe Dr. Who related or another AoT character or another anime...or maybe Apple related (haha no).

I've watched 2 episodes now? Bit of a slow burner but it is building up. Interesting characters.

I have quite a lot in my watch list and never find time to watch them. Currently grabbing one show at a time whilst eating my dinner. It'll take me a while to get though my list at that rate lol.

I've been binging on Young Sheldon lately, it's hilarious! I also really like Kdramas, right now I'm into Our Beloved Summer. Have you ever watched any Korean shows? They're so entertaining and really pull you in. I find myself glued to the screen even though I need to sleep haha. Let me know if you want any other Kdrama recs, there are so many good ones out there now.

I don't know about that show. Daleks are not scary. The Borg are scary. The alien from the Aliens movies are scary. The Daleks are just murderous jerks.
Weeping Angels are scary, Vashta Nerada are very creepy but the worst was whatever entity featured in the episode "Midnight".

I watched it during the Eccleston/Tennant period and like it, but I kind of lost interest after that. But it happens, even if you don't necessarily not like them. I hate to admit it, but the Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers are in the situation for me. After literally two or three decades watching, never missing an episode, now I'm like "eh." Still watch American Dad though. And the Simpsons Halloween episode.

Have you tried Disenchantment an animated series on Netflix. It another series by Matt Groening (of Simpsons fame). I find a very amusing although it is more raunchy (drinking, nudity drinking, blood/gore and drinking) since it on a streaming network.

Elfo!

Yes. I was an avid fan and loved it. But it has officially ended after 50 episodes.
