I’m involved in quite a few series…

The Pitt - HBO Max

Chicago Med, Found & Long Bright River - Peacock

The Morning Show -  TV

Doc, High Potential, Schitts Creek- Hulu

Raising Kanan, Force, Ghost Book II - STARZ

Stranger Things, Wayward & Peaky Blinders - Netflix

I tried watching Monster: Ed Gein, (Netflix) story but it bored me after the 5th episode

Some 90s Aussie crime nostalgia at the moment…

I thoroughly enjoyed Butterfly. DDK is a great actor, and even though this action roll is a bit of a stretch for him, I thought he did a great job.

The ending kind of ticked me off only because I know it's going to be a long time (probably a year) before the next season drops (if it even gets renewed by Prime).

Finito.

Monster: The Ed Gein story. Not bad , a bit weird but nowhere near as weird as Charlie Humman’s accent around episode 4.

Just starting on the adventure, episode 1 season 1.. I did watch the first season but it was ages ago and I can’t remember it. Thought as the final season is coming out I should finally watch it.

So I have this, Slow Horses and The Morning Show I am currently watching.

Dark is one of the best shows I have ever watched. It’s just brilliant. I won’t spoil anything but I hope you love it. I must give it a rewatch with my wife as she hasn’t seen it.

Meanwhile I’m on rewatch #4 of

I already am a fan - I just watched the episode where we find out the gentleman who hangs himself in the first episode is the kid who his son "loses" in the forest - gets sent back to 1986 and lives through to becoming the grown up in the first episode.

Wild, as a long time fan of Dr. Who and Star Trek the time shenanigans of course would appeal but it's more than that.

It’s such a mind trip I love it. It gets better and better as it progresses. I hope you’re not too tired over the next wee while as it’s gonna be hard to not play that next episode when you should be going to sleep!

I'm not currently binging them but CW had a bunch of super hero shows. I watched them when they came out. Alone. Now that my son doesn't live with me he's binging those shows. Sad we never bonded over them.

Doctor Who and Star Trek are among my favorites but I'm a lousy at binging as I never watch more than 2-3 episodes at a time.

Not really binging, because they only have one episode appearing a week, but --

  1. Sheriff Country
  2. Boston Blue
Both cleverly written cop shows with little violence and no language.

I was wondering why they were so good, till I saw that they were both Jerry Bruckheimer products.
They also have Morena Bacarin, from Firefly and Sonequa Martin-Green from Star Trek: Discovery.

Now I have to wait a whole flamin' week for the next episodes...

Seems like I've seen Boston Blue before.

The whole family is involved in police work except one family member who's a prosecutor... and the head of the family is widowed, but the grandfather is present, and they have a weekly family dinner.

So, a kind of Blue Bloods Lite?

Minus all but one of the cast (rising salaries on long-running shows can be a killer), and shot in Toronto, so it's cheaper.

As a Tom Selleck fan, who got sucked into BB, which would have otherwise been outside my wheelhouse, I'll have to check it out. Danny Reagan annoying a bunch of different people.

It also kind of scratched the old itch from the Sipowicz and Simone days.

That's Blue Bloods...

Have you seen Boston Blue?

Blue Bloods:
Reagans are cops. The sister/daughter is an ADA. Pops is involved. Family dinners each week. Danny Reagan is a hot-shot detective who always knows best.

Boston Blue:
Silvers are cops. The mom/stepmom is the DA. Grandpa is involved. Family dinners each week. Danny Reagan is a wanna be hot-shot detective who will soon take over.

It's just a rehash of Blue Bloods, IMO.

I’ve always enjoyed these shows where the men are in full protective battle gear and the women are wearing a polo shirt or sleeveless crop top and split dress. Guessing ratings are primarily a heterosexual male demographic.

Standard fare in RPG. The better the guy's armor, the more it covers up. Basic leather only covers the body, chainmail covers the arms as well. Platemail covers the entire body. The better a gal's armor, the skimpier it gets. Basic cloth armor covers the entire body. Black leather--it's always black leather--covers like a leotard. The Bikini of Ultimate Defense leaves nothing to the imagination and is, by far, the best armor in the game. AC100, DR90%, +5 chr, whereas the guy's best armor is AC70, DR80%,+3 str. Naga the White Serpent, from The Slayer, has this armor.😘

Rehashes are more acutely noticeable in movies, because fewer are made relative to TV shows, but the landscape of the latter would look very different if they didn't exist.

I enjoyed the award-winning Pitt, but it's basically a revival of ER combined with 24's real-time conceit, and some more latitude to show things that couldn't be shown on network TV.

And that's before getting into the Law & Order… CSI… Chicago… 9-1-1… franchises. And now …Country, I guess.

Etc. etc.

The moral-drubbing family dinners on Blue Bloods were what made it unique from the start, and still unique, AFAIK, since it's the only cop show I've recently watched, so it can still claim some distinction.
