Speaking of Frank, I couldn't stand him when I watched M*A*S*H for the first time. But watching him in reruns, I found myself respecting the actor tremendously. It takes a lot of talent to play the role of the bad guy/butt of every joke.

How true this is I don't know, but it is in Larry Linville's IMDB profile:

Chose not to renew his M*A*S*H (1972) contract because "I felt I had done everything possible with the character" of Frank Burns. Said later that the fifth season (his last) had been hardest for him, since Frank no longer had Loretta Swit's character Hot Lips on his side, leaving him to bear the brunt of the insults alone. He even stopped attending dailies, because he was tired of seeing his character as the butt of so many jokes.

Same.

I was tore up when
Col. Blake's plane got shot down...

McLean Stevenson had other reasons for leaving, and the producers made sure it would be final. 🙂

I can't tell you how many times I've binge-watched Friday Night Lights over the years. EVERY character on the show has a fantastic story line, and ALL the actors/actresses play their part near perfectly–so rare for a TV show that spans multiple seasons.

Except for that infamous S2 plotline which was quickly forgotten about…or buried (no pun intended).

Last night I finished Season 5 of For All Mankind and watched the first two episodes of Star City. It felt like binge watching that universe.
The "life" based on "methane, not carbon" was ridiculous. Methane has carbon in it. Plus, unless you change the laws of physics, all life almost certainly would be based on carbon. I know these writers take creative liberties but that one is tough to swallow.

Moreover, when she walked in the liquid methane, how is it that her legs didn't freeze solid in seconds?

Really disappointed with the ending.

For All Mankind was a huge disappointment and I’m very surprised they took that direction. Everything was bad: the plot, the actors, the “decor”…I was also shocked to see the RT score. They really let down the audience.
