What’s the deal with the Live Walpapers? I have to 3D Touch to use them, and they only work on the Lock Screen?

Been like that since 2015 mate (6s introduced them on phones)

Yeah it's weird. Confused me back then too. Especially since apple had moving wallpapers already with the apple watch by that time (the cool jellyfish ones)

The 6s demo units had beautiful motion wallpapers which is what I think many of us were hoping they'd be (next step from the apple watch)

but instead they ended up just as you described which was a bit disappointing (step back from auto action of apple watches live wallpaper)

This is how it was on apple watch, and 6s should have taken next step imo

Lots of speculation as to why apple didnt follow up with that but we'll never know I suppose

FYI you can also make a live photo you wallpaper and 3d touch it to move in same way too

You may steer clear if you have had bad experiences, but I, too, have just one device with me, my iPhone 7, and have been using it on betas only with huge success. Prior to this, I had my iPhone 5s on betas with equal success. There have been only two instances where betas have been deal-breakers for me.

First was when I had to restore to release version of iOS 6, when iOS 7 beta 1 was released.

There was one more instance where I had to go back to release version, that was probably when iOS 10 came out. The reason was that Outlook app was not compatible, and that being email, was critical enough for me to have to go back to iOS 9.

Besides these two instances, I have had no problems whatsoever with betas. So, I would suggest, you make a list of apps and see, with help from this forum, if all work correctly on the latest beta (11.2 beta 2) and then you may take a call to get on the beta bandwagon.

As for me, there is nothing to make me roll back to iOS 11.1.1 at all. Beta 2 of iOS 11.2 is working beautifully with all my apps working as expected. UI and UX is smooth and fluid, animations are fast. Battery has been the best ever. Really, love the 11.2 fork.

Yeah, all very good advice.

To be fair the biggest issue with beta testing I had was actually with OS X rather IOS where I lost the ability to use all encrypted USB drives which I needed for work. Created chaos and I stupidly had not have a full back up drive image to restore from. On IOS I have had stability issues in the past which stopped me installing those beta's and the recent exchange server bug would have been a real pain as I have 4 different exchange accounts for work. Problem is predicting which apps will stop working in the next incremental update.

Yes, I guess we all have been stupids at various levels and to varying degrees in our computing lives. I have been stupid enough to not have a release version on my old MBP and therefore in a Sierra installation, I had two computers with same builds and therefore, same issues.

People who literally depend on certain things such as Exchange, which is in itself always in some or the other degradation, should refrain from using betas, generally. The Outlook issue I mentioned having caught myself in, was just that, that I was not able to add even a single Office 365 email address to the Outlook app, therefore, missing on email notifications. I had to rely on keeping the inbox open in Safari on iOS as a stopgap measure. That was a very painful and bitter experience and I had to wait a long while before Microsoft played ball. It later turned out to be a bug in their own system, not particularly related to iOS, but the fact remained that iOS 9 was working flawlessly, and the beta of iOS 10 was not.

So yeah, you are right, we have to be quite cautious using beta software in production environment.

hi good wallpaper!can me the apple logo glow like green purple and deep blue please

Here you go. And one without logo if you like to use it for the home screen.

Press perspective to centre it. Then still if you don’t want perspective view.

How are you making them on iPhone btw. These are nice !

I have downloaded the first one with dust the stars. Then a transparent png of the Apple logo.

I then use this app

Superimpose by Pankaj Goswami https://itunes.apple.com/ie/app/superimpose/id435913585?mt=8

To put the logo over the stars and create the glow. With the drop shadow option.

I also use Snapseed. I use that to make the wallpaper bigger with expand to make the logo smaller.

pefrect.thank you

You’re welcome.

Is it possible to get the dynamic blue bubbles with blue background wallpapers from iPhone 6s Plus onto the X?

Basically the whole collection of bubbles
I'm assuming this isn't possible? I was absolutely gutted to lose that blue dynamic wallpaper. Loved it on my last three iPhones. Having to use a still image of it.
