I bet the mini will be upgraded to x3100 graphics!
That would be lame...

Of course, I'm far from a graphics card expert so I won't argue too much![]()
what about the Mac Pros?
So there is some hope that the Mini might see a bump. It wouldn't need much just the same specs the new Alu MB although the the white MB still around I guess that isn't going to happen.
I am essentially waiting on an update as I would dearly love to purchase two of them to replace aging PCs which would also switch their users over and in the long run they would buy further Apple computers. It really is the idea starter mac, especially for those who don't need the world's fastest PC.
So the big question to me is whether the Macbook signals the death of Firewire across Apple's low end computers. I'm loving the mini I got 6 weeks ago as my main desktop/server, but eventually I want another one for the home theater. FW is still a must, as I have too many current devices that use it.
If the rumored new one (assuming it really exists) retains Firewire, I can afford to wait; I'll upgrade at my leisure and move the current one out to the family room at that time. If FW is gone, then I'll have to make a quick decision on whether to grab an old refurb before they're gone. Might have an unexpected Christmas present for myself in that case!![]()
17" Macbook Pro!!! Where are you????

Apple typically issues updates on Tuesdays, but has had an occasional Monday [...]
This has been the most realistic specs I've seen thus far. I'm most concerned about the future of FireWire and really hope the Mini still has it.What I want:
2.0GHz or 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo models
NVIDIA 9400M GPU
160GB or 250GB hard drives (user upgradable)
2GB RAM (user upgradable)
3xUSB and FireWire 800

I might buy a mini if it has Firewire. It's a conundrum for Apple, because the minis have usually been last years' iBook / MacBook, but if they do that this time, the mini will be better served than the current MacBook for connectivity.
I'd guess they'll cripple it, because that seems to be their thing lately.
there seems to be little info on this alleged release therefore i predict nothing until macworld
The problem is, you were using a REAL crow bar, on an IMAGINARY computer. That almost never works.
(Emphasis (in quote) mine)
The current mini doesn't have 802.11n? That's insane! These things are more out of date than I thought.Only thing I would add to this short list is 802.11n.![]()
The Apple Store has been down over an hour now. Perhaps they're relesing new ones for Saturday....
