A lot of rumours are now pointing to the air having white bezels and keys. If this was the case how would you feel about it?

Personally I actually kind of like it.

If we’re talking about the same rumors, (The one from Jon Prosser), I absolutely love it. I like the idea of Apple having a line of “fun” computers for the family/ education market. The white bezels and keys don’t bother me a bit. I think people are overlooking the fact that this (and the M1 iMac) aren’t targeted at the professionals, but instead families, college students, and education. I also like the idea that this new MacBook could be the return of the MacBook (non Air). Not everyone wants a Space Gray slab of metal laptop. I really hope they bring some color to the MacBook line!

I think the mistake is only having the white bezels. The iPhone used to have a choice of black or white, I wish it was the same on the Macs. I was OK with white on my first iMac, the first 24" model, but then realised how much better black was when I replaced it. I don't want to go back.

I would always go with black given an option, but I am happy for others to prefer white.

I agree that black often looks better but when you consider that the whole computer might be a bright green or blue or whatever, black might not look all that great. Brushed metallic pink and inky black? I guess I’d have to see it in person but In my head those two colors don’t mix well. I’m sure they’ll keep the back bezels on the higher end “pro” models. I like the white bezels… on the lower end models, it goes nicer (imho) with the colors theyre made of

White bezels and white keys? Where have I seen that before...

Not a fan of white bezels. And white keyboard keys tend to look dirtier and show wear over time more than black keys.
not a chance...the wireless imacs magic keyboards has none of these issues after years
the wear will always show on a darker colour , also the particles of dirt..on black you see everything..white cars/black cars same deal
So no worries there

That’s just not true. I’ve been using a 2017 iMac with an A1243 wired keyboard (white keys) and it still looks as white as the day we got it. If you’re keyboard is that dirty you need to clean it more regularly.

Lol no. All my white Apple keyboards have shown usage over the years and that’s with me keeping them clean.

I disagree. My white keyboards always show usage over the years. And I’m a clean freak.

I agree some of the colours would not work well with black. I assume Apple would choose the right colours to match the black versions. I’ve liked the Product Red devices with black bezels, but not white.

On the 24” iMac I like every colour on the back, but only the silver on the front. Personally, I’d like to see the chin match the bezel, then the strong colours used on the back would not be overpowering on the front and leg. Those stronger colours would probably suit black bezels better.

which is opposite experience from mine - at our workplace it's always the white wireless ones that seem to need the most vigourous cleaning if left uncared for for a couple of months ..and it's usually those vigorously cleaned ones where a key stops responding immediately afterwards lol

I’d be fine with it if they paired it with the bold colors on the backs of the iMac. But the pastels would be a pass for me. Although the silver one would be acceptable.

Awful, awful, awful! I don’t like it one bit. I like the current version.

White bezels, white keys, colors childish looking trash. It is a joke to see some people make excuses that these aren't "professional" laptops. The specs say otherwise. Oh ok so they are professional so that is your excuse for Apple not having the Air in colors prior to now? Apple better slap the Macbook only name on this colored crap. How is the world can a laptop with basically similar specs as any professional laptop be deemed not professional by Apple apologists?

I have never had more appreciation for the current design with black bezels and keys than I do now after learning of the rumored new design. I’m sure Apple’s version will look a bit more polished than Jon’s mock-up, but I really do not love the key and bezel design. I absolutely love the external design, however, with the thin, flat edges. I think the wedge design is a bit easier to hold, and a bit more comfortable on the wrists, but I like the clean, flat design. Long story short, I am very happy that I purchased the M1 MacBook Air when I did. It checks so, so many boxes for me, and it’s a glass of ice water in the hell that was the prior MBA/MBP design fiasco.

I don’t love a white keyboard but I only think it looks nice if the entire body is white, like this classic design. I would love to see a glossy white MBA with a sheen similar to that of the jet black iPhone 7 but, obviously, white. What would they call it? Private jet white? ;)
