Doubtful.

The differences between the white and black iPhone 4 are cosmetic. The fact of the matter is that Apple is shipping white iPad 2s right now. Whatever technical difficulties Apple had in shipping the white handset have clearly not been a factor in the tablet's rollout.

No but the problem with the white iPhone (as far as I recall) was that light was coming in through the white back and hitting the camera from the sides. The iPad has no glass back so that problem is irrelevant.

I have seem insignificant, but based on the second phone's file size, multiplied by the number of times the code is downloaded - how much space and bandwidth was wasted on this?!

It wasted more bandwidth to read your comment and reply to it than downloading one graphic. Big freakin' deal.

Am I the only one thinking "the cake is a lie"? :D

Then again, I think it's quite cool, which my SO seems to regard as similar to expressing a like for Barry Manilow/Justin Bieber (delete depending on generation).

I'm surprised with it though... I (still) use my iPhone 1 in a neoprene case that I always take it out of when I make a call. (it doesn't have a window). So accidents while calling always happen when it's unprotected.

I've dropped it several times on a stone surface, one time it slid down a concrete slope for several metres, with the screen facing down. After that there was one tiny scratch on it next to the speaker area. The screen part still looks as new, even though the back and sides are scratched/dented a bit. The back was aluminium and plastic on the iPhone 1 of course.

In my opinion, as far as glass goes this is as good as it gets. I don't know if the iPhone 4 is made of the same material though, but I can't imagine them choosing a weaker material for a much newer phone.

No question that the glass has gotten better than the original optical glass used...I just also know that my phone shows a couple feint scratches on the back glass because of particles being trapped by the case. furthermore, all the ip4's ive seen that dont have cases...tend to have a decent amount of fine scratching (just by sliding them in and out of pockets, laying down on surfaces...etc. Nothing major). Ha ha! Im also a total wimp when it comes to my electronics...Im currently fretting about my iPad 2 having nothing covering the aluminum back.

Pure speculation.

There were multiple theories about Apple's white handset production problems: light leakage, camera performance, color matching, etc. Since Apple never made an official statement on the reasons for the delay.

If I recall correctly, the black iPhone 4 has a metal collar around the back camera module, so light leakage shouldn't be an issue. What is more probable is the front facing camera which abuts to the glass.

The white paint may have been intensifying lens flare, reducing the front camera performance.

I will buy a Product Red iPhone as long as it's not just another iPhone 4.

I am so sick of the white iPhone, it's coming up on a year since we first saw it, I've never seen one in person but I can't stand the sight of it

+1. I'd buy the iPhone in red just for the color. Although it may grow tiresome and be incredibly obnoxious, maybe a cover instead. Hmmmm.

Was the icon found alone or along with the label "White CDMA iPhone 4" and "White GSM iPhone 4," because if not, what we could be simply looking at is the white versions of the iPhone 5.

Maybe it's just me, but both icons look exactly the same. Without any labels, I'd just assume they're both GSM iPhones 4.

Is this one prone to the yellowing effect as it was on the 3G? Also there were hairline fractures on my 3G, but I suppose that was the result of a weak plastic like material used for that, as opposed to the "gorilla glass" that they have for the iPhone 4.

Most likely no one will know. I wonder if the iPhone 4 people who swapped the front and back covers to the white color are experiencing any issues with the color.

It was learned that the "yellowing" effect on the 3G(S) was not from the iPhone but some of the cases. It was addressed and case manufacturers released stick-ons for the back that kept the cover from direct contact. I had a few white iPhone's (don't ask), I experienced the "yellow" issue on the first one and found out what caused it. I cleaned the back and was all set.

As the iPhone 4 uses glass (Apple is decreasing the amount of plastic and non-recyclable materials in its products), the white glass iPhone 4 had issues with the consistency of the color (the glass shows more uneven tones/slight imperfections than black). Some have claimed light leakage from the screen, which I highly doubt.

Apple's cheese for all the mice who believe in them. Is it possible that is gonna release, sure it's Apple. Is it likely the iPhone 5 will share the iPhone 4 design, of course, it's Apple. Don't let this be a huge easter egg, take it with a grain of salt.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)

Maybe the new iPhone will come with new magnet cover too. Self standing, sleep cvr...

Or better yet better processing chip/or ram to get rid of checkered board effect.

I think this is part of iTunes 10.2.1 not normal 10.2. I have the original one (10.2) and looking in the resources, nothing there. In fact, the resources of it came from 10.1 (not replaced), as I did a software update and found that many things were exactly the same, including the resources. I'm guessing 10.2.1 update silently brought out is because of this.

Just cause there is a fancy picture in iTunes doesn't mean that the albino iPhones really exist. Need to see the device in Apple Store or Best Buy before i believe. Albino iPhones, next they'll be saying that computers will come in a rainbow of colors. Silly, silly, silly.

What's the different between a CDMA and a GSM phone?

And which one work can be jailbreak?

And Phil Schiller tweeting about it coming this spring just a few days ago means nothing to you?
And confirmed reports of a few Apple employees having been seen with white iPhone 4s and even caught on camera do not count either?

so can the Verizon iPhone 4 be jailbroken to use Cricket Wireless since they both CDMA?
