"White front is better" discussion

When locked:

I really do prefer the look of the iPhone when its locked with a black screen, it just looks like one piece of glass: all the same colour.

Personally i've just ordered the 64gb Space Grey version

I don't understand this logic. First it was pink (which was originally a boys color), then purple, then anything pastel and now WHITE! Pretty soon men won't be allowed to use anything because we're too busy throwing our freedoms away in the name of hypermasculinity.

I say pick any color you want and stop giving everything a gender.

Because of color matching. It's better to have a black front since it matches the different colored shells better. A white front on colored shells other than white is just wrong.

If Apple were of this opinion, I find myself wondering why they have white fronts on all colours of the iPod Touch.

I think that the white can look cheaper than black though, so my opinion is that they are black as white fronted 5C's would be at risk of looking even more tacky than the ones we have because they are plastic.

That and I believe that Apple are hoping to sell 5C in higher volumes than the 5S. I gathered from iPhone 4 days that white is harder for them to produce, which may explain in part why there is a 5S shortage, with 2 white fronted options and 1 black.

Always had Black but saw the Space Grey in store today and just didn't like it. Mainly because of the contrast edges on the back make it look less tall and very iPhone 4 like overall. If they did slate/black I would have gone for that.

Anyways gone for white/silver also think it works well with iOS7 too.

It's not "girly" - it's my preference i.e. the one I like best.

The white front reflects ambient light.
Ambient light is not always white.

The display is an active light source.
That means you look at two different whites.

I always choose a black front, because black always works regardless of the content.

White front is literally garbage because it reflects light and it makes everything seem weird. Black front really encapsulates the screen. Much more pleasurable.

I've always gone with black on my iPhone and iPad because I can't stand the thin black "frame" between the white front and the LCD display.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one. I thought it was just my OCD. I actually liked the gold option but just couldn't pul the trigger because of this issue. Now, If they would have done gold on a black face phone I would have got it in a heartbeat.

Agree! Went with white iPad, but in iPhone like the all black front better.
