I'm in the process of trying to determine a cut off date for when I will finally give up on the white and buy a black.

I really can not understand what apple is up to in regards to the white. They obviously had a batch of the white ones that they were pleased with at one point because they were pimping the white version very hard at the iPhone 4 event. The white version was THE version that was on hand for journalists to play with/photograph.

Something doesn't add up with the explanation apple is giving. Of course, it being apple, none of us will ever know what is really going on there.

same here.. I've been debating this since evil apple made their "later this year" announcement. I'm tempted to make my cutoff point the week or the week after the ipod release event.. sometime early to mid september it looks like.

my cutoff date was when they announced "later this year" I want to be eligible for an upgrade when the 5 is released and I already waited an extra month. so I said the hell with it and got a black. LOVING IT.

pretty much identical situation here. It would have been nice to have the white one, but at this point I am just glad I finally have an iphone 4. As an early adopter the wait was excruciating
