White iPhone 4 Delayed Once Again Until Spring 2011

Wow. If this isn't the best business ploy every I don't know what is.
It's a white iphone. Not a rocket ship. If Apple really wanted to produce a white iphone they would have. They're a billion dollar company. It's white paint. They used to produce 99% of their products in white. You don't need to be a genius to work out that something fishy is going on here. Five months and they still can't do it?
Or..they could stagger their black iphone sales, making sure all the people holding out for the white iphone eventually give up and purchase the black one. Which is exactly what's going to happen now. They've pushed the date further back, and now all the people who were waiting to buy a white iphone will purchase a black one, or hold out till spring 2011 for the iphone 5. I refuse to believe anyone will 'get an HTC' or anything else, because the people waiting for the white iphone are likely to be hooked on apple by now anyway.

I would have to agree. Whats the point in buying the white one when iPhone 5 will be due out much later... You could say that this white iPhone 4 is would be called the "Duke Nukem Forever" of phones at this point.
Yep... it would be a nonsense to release a white one of the old model just months before the new model is due. Maybe those who don't know the model cycle so much would still get it but they should just focus on getting the color issues right for the next model now.
Not that I'd believe it but that would be hilarious if Verizon went to Apple and paid for an exclusive on the white iPhone as a way to pull people from AT&T.
Exactly. If they couldn't get it together in a year there's no point anymore. The next iPhone may not even have a glass back either so it may be a mute point with the iPhone 5.
Isn't promising a product to customers & then never releasing it illegal? I definitely remember IBM doing this and they got into lots of trouble, why isn't anybody regulating Apple's claims?
At least give us an explanation for the delays
LMAO....you're obviously NOT an attorney...how could you possibly think this illegal? if they would have taken deposits and pre orders then perhaps...
make no mistake about it The white iPhone will work on AT&T's network....the few white iphones that have made it to the public are AT&T GSM...that's not to say there will not be white iPhones on the other carrier whoever it may be

in a nutshell the light from the screen bleeds through the white painted glass..imgaine how upset you'd be if your white iPhone did that

This also highlights how most of us end up getting models that are already well on their way to be replaced. iPhone 4 was announced June and yet mass availability took a while to get to market, so the design ages between announcement and the day you get the handset.

There are parts available on eBay to change your phone to white, or if you're not picky, the back plate can be changed to several different colors. I can't verify the authenticity of parts, but I purchased a white one for $50 and it looks OEM to me. I personally don't care for the white-all-over look, so I left my front face plate alone. I know most people won't be happy with this since it's not coming direct from Apple, but I happen to think it looks pretty authentic. But at least I don't have to continue waiting...

Just make sure that you get the plate WITH the internal parts for the back as well, including the rim for the back camera lens. They are not all created equal...

like a previous "poster" mentioned, I too, was waiting on the white iPhone to order it for my better half. I guess I'll just have to order the black iPhone (what I originally wanted) for myself or she'll just have to give into it.
Hopefully she won't get upset and not let me buy mine, either! LOL
I really doubt an iPhone 5 or whatever will be out next June. How can the white version iPhone 4 be available 2 months prior to a major hardware upgrade? If there's some type of upgrade, it'll be like when the 3G was upgraded to a 3GS. Nothing major.......the only difference was video editing, more speed, voice control, and cut and paste (i believe)
Either way.......we'll see what happens.......and remember...if you get an iPhone4 now and there IS a major upgrade in June, there's always eBay. And you can get back most of what you paid and use that cash to upgrade to the new iPhone version in June, if one really is available.

a company with apple ability and talent, cannot produce a white iphone, kind of a bad joke isn't it?
