I gave up.

I wanted it soooo badly, but I just couldn't wait any longer.

That being said, I love my black iPhone 4. But I'd trade it in for a white one any day. :)

What? Do you want them to post every time they have a design or manufacturing challange? One of the reason i like Apple, because if they don't have something important to say they don't. In the grand scheme of things people only care when they can get it, not how it was made. In this case it's just bunch of nerss whining. Nothing new to this board.

I'm personally aiting for KnightWRX, smartest dude around here, he will make clear how it really is.

Meh, although I generally prefer Apple's white products, the iPhone 4 looks better in black. Imagine the iPad with a white bezel. Ugh.

This isn't a "design change". This is a flaw that has been unaccounted for for months now with no update as to when people will be able to buy the product. I think I've seen you throw this buzz word around but the White iPhone is Vaporware.
 
I am happy Apple is making sure things are right with this iPhone before releasing the white model. The PR disaster would be compounded by an Apple hungry media.

I saw an Apple Materials and Packaging Manager with a White iPhone 4 on October 11, 2010. I asked him if he could disclose any information as to the progression in production for the particular model. He said, "I can't comment on the current state of production, but they [White iPhone 4's] are all over now." It sounded as if he was indicating the phone is close to launch, but that's just speculation. The interaction occurred at an Apple internship and recruitment presentation event that I attended.

yup.. the white iphone has a white headphone hack.
+ download the picture...zoom it around the camera...
the back plate is a bit thicker than my iphone 4.
Also if it helps at all.... I called apple cuz i broke my
iPhone 4 and spoke with a "Derek Dickson" [Manager or something]
and i asked him if i could buy a white one for xmas..... he mentioned
they would have limited stock by then. [if there's a way to get like a call
in .mp3 or something i'll post it]
 
If white is a difficult color, then just nano-chromatic it. :D An orange or blue iPhone 4 would be nice. Oh, and match the colors with the bumpers. Come on Apple, you've delayed it this long, might as well.

It's my opinion so I'll say what I want. From what I have seen, most would not have cared as much as Apple does to delay such an important and high margin product. I actually could not care less about Apple giving a response as to why it's late. That is their business. If you don't like, buy a different product.

my feelings exactly. i was holding out for a white iPhone but now? i can wait until the iPhone 5 (i think).

I think that since they never did begin shipping it, and said it was "delayed due to production problems" is all the news one needs/ deserves, unless there is something new to report. Saying "It's still delayed" doesn't help, and if they aren't certain when it will be ready they can't really give a definite release date. While I agree a "It's still coming" might be nice, I don't see how consumers are entitled to even that unless you put money down. They never took deposits.

I initially wanted the white and was going to wait till it was in stores to make my final determination. Ultimately my 3G got sooo dog slow on iOS4 that I bought the black iP4 and haven't looked back. I would like to pick up a white back though. Not so sure about the white front anymore.
 
sucks, I was waiting for a white one.

Apple could sell it as a feature, the white one with different color options for the home button other than white. :D

thinking of finding an 3GS so I'm not locked in for 2 years and just wait for the iPhone 5

It's difficult to really call it vaporware. Vaporware is used to encourage people to hold out rather than buy a competitors product. This is doing the exact opposite...people are holding out on buying the iPhone because they're waiting for the white one.

I agree that more transparency would be nice. But the fact is that they gave us a update, however vague, that they would have it toward the end of the year. Further explanation wouldn't make any actual difference

Out of curiosity - define "most" to you then. Just curious if 1, 2, 3, 5 equates to most companies. I assume you're at least narrowing your commentary down to Phone or computer manufacturers? Because if not - there are thousands of manufacturers.

You know - clarify in the interest of semantics. :)
 
I wanted the white and decided to wait... now I'm just going to wait for iphone 5 and skip iphone 4.

I wish they could have gotten this figured out sooner because i'm still using a 3G, and on a few different occasions I've almost gotten an android.

Let's say volume. So for phones it's Moto, Nokia (I have colour issues on my Nokia phone, I don't care however), maybe Samsung and LG. For computers, Asus, Dell, Acer and perhaps Lenovo.

im sorry.... but..... WHAT?! :confused: what phone are you looking at? the iphone 4 is the sleekest and sexiest phone apple has ever made, and the white one looks even better!
