By the time this white iPhone hits the stores, most people will be looking ahead to the iPhone 5. It would probably be better if they just saved the white phones for next summer's launch.

the bobble-head iMac is proof enough that Apple isn't worried about matching whites.
2 months after you brought one of those home, the monitor enclosure was yellow and the base was pink.
it was pretty lame to see that on a store display model.
The keyboards faded at a different rate, too.

Why should they? It's their product line-up. They can decide what or what not to release.
Simple, they could go with a chrome or matching metallic button on the white iPhone without it looking odd. I quickly did one and think it's not bad looking...
The difference being the white iPhone has been seen all over select people, while the Verizon iPhone hasn't even been seen once.
Also, it is much more probable that T-Mobile gets an iPhone before Verizon.
The headphone jacks on the ones apple had at the press conference are black...

Its the same bad business practices that people here lambast others for but it always seems like its ok for Apple. Either way you say it, its Vaporware, no?
what is sad about this is I am going to bet Apple is going to relase a white iPhone in Jan and see a huge surge of sells. They will see that and start sitting on the release of the white phone until 6 months after the release of black one. Only sell it for 6 months and make a killing.
They know fanboys will buy the XG phone as soon as it comes out and then go buy a white one later on so they can get the color they want.

Any white plastic starts yellowing over time. The white plastic parts on my fridge which in now a couple of years old are yellow, but the white painted metal stays fresh.
I don't really think that Apple will release a white iPhone, not until they make some adjustments to the design to fix some of the knows issues so far. By then, we'll have a white/black iPhone 5
How is it ok on Apple? They said, the white iPhone is going to come out later this year. And to show they were not going to trick people, they decided AGAINST pre-selling or selling white iPhone.
How is it Vaporware when there are reports of white iPhones? Also, what good business practice is there that Apple has broken? I for one, don't see it.
No, I am not a blinded fanboy, I will lambast Apple when needed. Eg, no supporting the 1st Gen with iPhone OS 4, and many of the features such as MMS from OS 3.
that would be my take. He's definitely a "jacket wearing gent", and he absolutely has a white iphone (seen it in his hand, on stage, at one of his gigs)

100%. Again I applaud Apple for waiting until its right but you can't just turn a blind eye to the public.
when it was originally delayed Apple in fact did say it had to do with color matching and light leaking through the case

Ok, this is the one that finally made me reply... it would be a flaw if you paid for the device and it was yellowing or otherwise unmatched. I could understand your frustration if that was the case and you were waiting on a promised fix from Apple. However, you don't have one, you didn't pay for one, they haven't said those that have a black iphone will not be able to purchase a white... i just don't get your issues here......
Forget waiting for white, move on people. The black ones are the premium ones remember! Think old school macbooks
Seeing as how I was the one who made owning a white iPhone cool when the 3G came out, I was really wanting to get a white 4.
However, I am very glad I did not continue to wait for the white 4 to come out. I have been enjoying my black iPhone 4 for a while now. Black is not as bad as you might think.

Maybe the white screens won't break when you sneeze....oh, its the same glass....never mind. Sorry, but the screens on the 4's suck @ss. I set mine on the counter and the bottom cracked...good lord.
