I prefer the black iPhone 4, but the white looks great, I just think that if they had released them at the same time maybe the white one would have not sold as well as the black but since it has been so much time and so much rumors about the white one being release now everybody seems to want a white one.

I'm glad almost everybody is really happy with their new white iP4

You mean these? http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9720G/B

Seems like your iPhone would stick out of the bottom and would not be protected at all if it hit in that part that was sticking out...

Yes, I mean these socks. Yes, a small part of the iPhone could stick out of the bottom, but for carrying the iPhone in my pocket, or putting it on tables etc they work great. The iPhone doesn't get any dirt, doesn't get scratched and it has enough protection.

The only way of hitting the iPhone is by taking it out of the socks the wrong way.

This man knows what he is talking about. Listen to him people!

Gives an honest answer without being biased. Thanks sordan :)

I agree. Sold my black one and bought the white on release day. So much better looking! (it is a matter of taste though). Matches my white ipad2 perfectly!

I am using a white iPhone since Friday and I haven't noticed any differences in call quality or signal.

I second that the phone still drops a few bars signal and wifi if you hold it any where near the corner. The proximity sensor is zoo much more sensitive than my 3GS, but have experienced a few lock ups with safari which is a concern.

Back to the thread been dying for 10 months for the White and was a bit disappointed when I first opened it, though it as really grown on me since.

Ps really hate the yellow tone to the screen though!!!

I was in the Apple Store yesterday to get my black one replaced under warranty, I updated to 4.2.7 on accident and it messed up my jailbreak and made it so Safari wouldn't load. After restoring it from an old backup, then restoring as a new phone, my safari still wouldn't load right, and I couldn't use any of my jailbroken stuff. Contacted Applecare and went through all the steps of repair with them and they finally just told me it needed to be replaced.

I asked about replacing with a white one, but Apple's policy is they have to replace the defective unit with the exact same part number, and the white iPhone is a different part number so that wasn't possible.

I was on a waiting list for the next available sales person (the store is ALWAYS super busy) and then talked myself out of buying the white one at no contract price ($599+tx) and selling my black 32gb.

I honestly didn't notice any difference between the official release white iphone and the white one I had from a conversion kit when I was on T-mobile. I couldn't find a white conversion kit compatible with the Verizon one, though.

My main concern with the white iPhone 4 is do they all ship with 4.7.2 (or 4.3.2 for GSM)? If so I would have to wait for a jailbreak which would cripple my phone usage. Anyone with the official white care to let me know what software they are running?

The replacement 32gb black I got yesterday had 4.2.6 on it so I was very happy.

Sorry for the long post, but I figured some of this info might be useful to you guys. :)

The yellow tint is something I didn't like at first, but now I am getting used to it. The black iPhone had cooler colors and that gave more vibrant colors. The white one is warmer. That isn't necessarily bad, but as I said I have to get used to it.

Anyone out there with an early black GSM iPhone 4 and a new white unit -

Does the vibration motor feel at all different between the old black 4 and the new white unit?

Anandtech detailed their findings at the bottom of this page (http://www.anandtech.com/show/4163/verizon-iphone-4-review) relating to how the black GSM 4 and the black CDMA 4 use different vibration motors. iFixIt confirmed this upon tearing the CDMA model down.

Think Apple used the new motor in the white model? I haven't seen any confirmation of this in any teardowns of the white model (though I haven't seen any done by reputable sources anyway). Sometimes I feel like the vibration is different, other times not.

What do you think?
