Yes! Finally! I've been waiting for the white iPhone 4 since launch. I'm with Verizon and I'm eligible to upgrade to the iPhone on April 22nd. Just in time. I was going to go ahead with the black, but now I'm going with white.

Between this and the Commodore 64 coming back with a Blu-Ray player attached, I couldn't be more bored of this summer's big news already.

I dunno, September announcement and probably October for real availability seems a long time to wait.
The white one looks hot.
Supposedly it keeps our costs down to sign up for such long term contracts.
My monthly bill is $50 for unlimited texts, unlimited data, some number of minutes (I'm splitting a family bill with AT&T,) plus the $300 upfront for the iPhone itself. What's your bill come to?

Smart to release it now. The verizon iPhone, then the white one, extends the freshness of the iPhone while they extend the iPhone 5 release to the fall. I think by fall they will be ready with a larger screen, NFC, LTE, and a cloud-integrated iOS 5.

You're going to pay the same rate for your service regardless of subsidy status of your iPhone. Why pay $650 when you can pay $200?
How reliable has Bloomberg been in the past? If they have a good track record, then this could actually be the first good sign that the iPhone 5 is delayed.
However, the article cites a random Toronto "analyst" as the basis for the delayed 5, and a tweet as the basis for the white version coming soon (in addition to two supposed informants).
I'm still convinced that Apple has done a good job of tightening up it's leaks this year, and we're seeing desperation from the tech sphere for any news. Does anyone remember the extremely crazy rumors from earlier this year? I have a feeling lots of plugs were leaked at that time, and this could be Apple testing security prior to WWDC.

Good pont London, I don't do contracts either, but I don't think the telcoms here in the US of Corporations will let us go with the UK plan. And if we do go on a 24 month contract I do believe that there is no cost reduction after the equipment is "paid" for. That is the 25 month cost the same as the 24th month.

I am a VZW customer who has been waiting for the iPhone 5 but my Droid original is about to die. I'm getting the white Iphone the minute it comes out with news of the latest IPhone 5 delay and because everyone has black. I can't wait anymore and will just sell the 4 on ebay for $400+ and buy the 5 outright (3GS still go for 300+ on ebay used). Plus I will lock into unlimited data for future LTE

I doubt theres anyone waiting specifically for this phone, but there are still people who are coming off contract and this is a fresh option vs the black model. People still buy older phones. The 3GS is still for sale and I'm sure there are people buying it.

Totally agree with you, last April iOS 4 was previewed then released 2 months later with the iPhone 4.
If Apple was planning to release iOS 5 in June it would have previewed it by now so developers have the time they need to work on it.
In other words, iOS 5 preview at WWDC followed by a release late September/early October and its tied iPhone 5 launch.

That is why iPhone (4) sales will remain close to zero until the iPhone 5 introduction. A white iPhone 4 will not change that very much.

One of my mates in Taiwan actually got a white conversion kit for his iPhone4. I took a look last week and was actually dissapointed. It looks kind of cheap & gimmicky. And I don't believe that's related to the quality of the conversion. This was performed using genuine apple components and in that respect the fit and finish was perfect.

Actually contract / No contract does not really make a difference here since I need service anyway.
I have had every model of iPhone since they where released in 2007..... The only one I did not sell with a profit was the original iPhone where no contract discount pricing was available.....
Every other model made money at resale.
