Love the idiots that think the ability to have an option of color is not worth it to consumers :p

I really hope they go into college as a business major so they can finally be educated that customers want choice or can fail miserably ;)

Except in this case with a product so popular, so hyped, and so well marketed it didnt really matter, and the black iPhone 4 sold in record numbers.

Is there anyone who really needs a new phone actually still waiting on Apple to release a white iPhone 4?

I hope by now they have moved on....... ;)

This thread really should be renamed "White iPhone 4 gone forever?"

Glad to see common sense prevail at Cupertino and they've decided to sweep the clusterf*ck that was announcing the 4 in white, the numerous problems (now solved) and delays, well and truly under the carpet and start afresh.

Too late to release now with the iPhone 5 due in a couple of months. Yet as with the iPad 2, the iPhone 5 will be available in both black AND white. And I will buy the latter option.

Exactly so consumers didn't care that there was no choice. If that had bothered them they would have gone with a different phone.

I know many consumers who cared that the white iPhone 4 didn't get released; I am one of them. I'm still angry at Apple for announcing the device three separate times and still not delivering. Mid-July at the Apple press conference about the antenna, you can't tell me that Steve Jobs didn't know that the white iPhone wouldn't be shipping at the end of July. He said it was still on track and all, with only 15 days left in the month. Production would have to be pretty much wrapped up and shipping to Apple would need to be taking place at that time.

So no, cared that there wasn't a choice. Would I have cared if a white iPhone 4 was never shown? No, I wouldn't. But the fact that Apple announced it, and now has no plans of ever releasing it bothers me. I wanted this white iPhone, glass front and back. The next one may be a new design, I wanted this one. Apple really messed up on the white iPhone 4, and the unfortunate thing is, is that so many people worship the company, so even when they screw over a portion of their customers, they still get praise. Like how I have seen a lot of comments about how Apple just shouldn't release it, it was ugly anyway, black was more popular. I wish people could just admit that this was a wanted, announced product by Apple, and by them not delivering, they are wrong. And I think customers who waited for this device deserve some kind of recognition that it is indeed cancelled permanently or a press release stating why they announced it but couldn't deliver.

But of course, Apple will keep mum on the subject, announce a white iPhone 5 and they will be praised for being able to make a white product, although a year late to that party.

Your a brilliant man gdjsnyder. Spot on I agree 100% :)

I hope Steve Jobs addresses why this happened @ WWDC this year. It should be a hilarious few minutes.

Well they lost one sale (ME) because of it!
I kept waiting and waiting and they kept saying it was coming later and it got late enough that I just gave up and decided to just wait for the iPhone 5. I am still on an iPhone 3GS. I'm sure there have got to be others who like me waited and then just gave up! Others I'm sure just got the iPHone 4 in black and moved on! I DIDN'T and I'm still pi$$ed that they kept me strung out waiting for it! They should have just admitted it was a prob and not going to be released anytime soon and left it at that. I did however get the iPad 2 in white and LOVE it! I will just wait until the 5 and see what comes up with it!

I was actually just thinking of that today. It sucks that Apple never came out with the white iPhone. I was one of the people that wanted one, but I'm okay with black too. It definitely didn't keep me from getting an iPhone. It did piss me off how Apple still advertised the white iPhone on their site and said 'coming soon,' and yet they probably knew it was never gonna happen.

I did however get the iPad 2 in white and LOVE it!

My buddy has the white iPad 2, and i was using it but i felt that it looked too tacky, and non-Apple ish. I guess i'm too used to black, as my MacBook Pro's bezel is black, my iPhone is black, and my iPad is black.

But it's true, Apple stated that they will be releasing a white and black one.
Hopefully iPhone 5 becomes a killer and everyone forgets about the white iPhone 4 once the iPhone 5 is released.

Phil "promising" is the same as what Steve Jobs said. I'll only believe it when i see it, and i think Apple realized that they need to shift gears to iPhone 5.

Of all the colors, people want a white iPhone...

What about blue, orange or even a green iPhone.

Black iPhone is already an icon as it is, i doubt Apple would change the color now

I think a white front on the ip4 looks like ass, but a white back on the 3gs is a work of art. probably look good on the ip4 as well. they should have just stuck with that.

they lost my order of an iphone. if the ip5 is not in white then ill give in but until then i am satisfied with my android.

I got tired of waiting so did a lot of research and finally ordered my white conversion kit. Hoping it will be here this week! The guy i ordered it from has all different colors. I was torn between the white and deep blue. Now, before i post these pics, i AM NOT the one selling these, I AM NOT affiliated with the company or have anything to do with them or their sales.

No they won't, but you can buy DIY white kits on eBay like I did or you can buy ones the are marked as refurbished because Apple started making them, but never put them in the stores, so now people are selling them on eBay.

I fully agree with you, I waited for it until early november 2010 then I let it go and got a black one when it was said the white model would be delayed until spring 2011. Mind you there never was an official Apple statement about this, Reuters just quoted Apple PR.

Even though it's akin to beating a dead horse, I still believe Apple should communicate about this and announce what they plan to do about this phone. And what about Phil Schiller who twitted that it would be released this spring ?? Obviously it could still come out this month or in may but who really knows...

Oh and that black iPhone 4 I purchased in november, well, it was great but it was stolen from me in february. Back to my old, dead slow 3G, so you can guess how pissed I am.

I caved on June 25th. I was going to wait, but had a feeling about the white version. Glad I didn't. And you made a great point that I was also pissed about, the October "delay" was never announced or anything. It was a silent push-back. Had no one asked Apple PR about it directly I am sure we wouldn't even have a Spring 2011 timeframe. Again, Apple can do this and not get any kind of bad press for it, because they're Apple.

And yeah, the Phil Schiller tweet...I'm not too excited about that, as Apple said Spring 2011. He could just be reiterating that timeframe and then boom, it's cancelled.

I would just like to know at this point, that's all I want, is a press release that it is not coming.

i think we can bet a white iphone will be standing right next to the black one come june. no point in putting out a 4 anything this close to june.
