You were right, my bad, read the article wrong... i thought it was 150,000 in PROFIT, but it turns out he only sold 130,000 in PRODUCTS. whoopsie..

Yeah honestly I feel bad for the kid a little.
I guess they pick and choose who they go after because there are lots of sites selling fakes with the Apple logo, which is trademark infringement.

I on the other hand can't believe so many people are concerned with how others are spending their money. Makes no sense to me.

Getting an i4 for $199 under contract and then spending $300 to change it to white and void the warranty doesnt make much sense to me either.

Considering that there are supposed to be no OEM white iPhone conversion kits it only makes sense that there had to be an illegal way to get them. Apple has so many rules and NDAs in place that it is obvious that no white iPhone parts are supposed to leave the Foxconn facilities unless otherwise specified by Apple, not some 17 year old kid. He knew what he was doing and ignorance is never an excuse in a court of law.
Showing their true colors? You mean a business going after someone who is selling stolen parts to a device that is not available publicly and which they own the patents to. It would be insane for any company, apple or otherwise, to not prosecute this guy. He broke the law and sold goods that were never meant to be sold. And a letter demanding he stop is absurd; he profited from parts that were illegally obtained, that's criminal. Articles state he made anywhere between $165,000-$200,000 dollars, at $300 a conversion kit he almost sold 750+ conversion kits. That's not something you just happen to stubble upon.
Feel bad for him? He knew what he was doing was illegal. It's called having consequences for your actions. And of course there are lots of sites selling parts with the trademarked apple logo. However, there is a large difference between trying to copy a company and actually selling their own parts illegally obtained through their own supplier. Oh and this kid did it all within the US which is where your going to be exposed to many more laws. Most companies copying apple, or any other company, usually do it from countries with vague laws or where it would be hard for a charge to stick. Difference between charging a US citizen or a Chinese citizen for example.

I go to school with fei(previous owner of www.whiteiphone4now.com), and he said he had to close the website down because apple forced him too so he won't get sued. He remade the website. There are about 3 fake website out right now, and whiteiphone4us is the real one. He tooked 2 days off from school and used it to ship out all the packages, so if anyone ordered its definetly on the way. Also, he didn't go to jail. Apple could'nt provide documents stating that the parts he sold belonged to them and right now he is being sued for purgery of good(or something like that). Thats all I can say.

What's funny is the two people who posted his new site are new newbs that registered this month...I've been emailing back and forth with the focussupply email that was posted first page and sent them a link to the "new" website the newbsters posted above and he said it isn't their site and they aren't open yet. They'll open again in a week or so...hmmm...

This astroturfing is awful. None of them are 100% legit. Either they are dealing with stolen merchandise, substandard third party parts or just illegal activities. Not a single one is an established reliable company that you can trust.

I wanted a white iPhone in the beginning but I wanted a legit one from Apple spending $300 and voiding my warranty seems crazy.
