iPhone 15/Plus Who bought the regular 15, and do you love it?

Wth how is the exchange an issue? I work for att and when people are here in store it’s not typically an issue. Shame. Have you tried going into a store versus online? corp stores should be able to handle the exchange with ease. Let me know if they can do it for ya!! It really shouldn’t be a hassle like you stated

Went into a corporate store Monday to do the return, and they couldn’t do it. They called in to someone, and that started this chain of no one being able to do the exchange for some reason. Literally 5-6 hours on the phone with them this week, and 4 different departments, plus escalations. It’s been absurd.

The Office of the President has a case for me now, and he said they’ll review everything and he’ll do what it takes to make it happen. Hopefully it’ll be handled within a few days.

Actually, that’s not true at all. Last year - no issue. The year before, I did try a mini after having my 13 pro just because I wanted to, and I planned to pass it to my granddaughter. 2020 I definitely played musical phones for a bit, but I’m saying that was because I was home all the time because of Covid (that’s my excuse anyway). Before that, I had never swapped a phone (Of course, there weren’t many options - lol).

And I’ve never been indecisive about other devices. I mean yeah I change stuff around because my needs change, but I haven’t ever returned an iPad, and I’ve literally returned TWO phones since iPhone 3G.

Not that it is anyone’s business what I do, but I really wish people wouldn’t always say that about me.
Bottom line, is, you don't owe anyone an explanation! do you!

I got my first pro max, and am in the process of trying to do an exchange through ATT (10/10 do NOT recommend). At any rate, I’m really considering just doing a regular 15 for the lightness factor. I considered going back to a smaller pro, but honestly, I only went pro last year because of the pros having no notch, so I don’t know if I wanna stick with that, or just get the lightest, easiest to handle phone at this point.

Just curious what others are thinking about their phones in case ATT is able to get it together and actually follow through with what their return policy states.

I remember replying to your post in a different thread of yours. I did mention about how much more premium the frosted back on the regular 15 feels over the Pro counterparts.

I’ve got the 15, coming from a 13 PM and I feel good going back to a pocketable sized iPhone. The battery life is great, and not having the ProMotion display is manageable.

But I’m all wax-lyrical about the design because build quality wise, this is the real deal. Aluminium chassis and a frosted back is the way forward. Dropped my phone once and it left nothing on my phone although the floor was smooth-tiled.

The regular Pro has had complains about subpar battery life. So I think the regular 15 is a no brainer this year.

I did and it’s defective and going to service. It feels so much cheaper compared to my 13 when it comes to build quality. Love the matte back though. But it feels like the whole thing is hollow and super slippery.

They are more slippery than the pro’s probs why you dropped it

😱😬 It looks so tedious and difficult just for returning an item. You may reconsider to purchase a phone from them in the future. Wish the best!😊

I’m really not understanding what could have happened. Unless you were outside the exchange/return window, phone you ultimately wanted was not in stock (still shouldn’t have been an issue) or you did a trade in already for the pro max and didn’t want that phone anymore after the trade in was done and needed a trade in promotion for the new device using the already traded in phone . Any of this apply?

Please let me know how it works out!

None of it. The pro max is what I had ordered. No trade. My phone was paid off and I upgraded.

I ordered online, so I had until October 9th (14 days from ship date) to start a return or exchange. It was October 9th when I went it (after calling customer service since I had ordered online - she told me to go in to the store), but I was actually out of town when the phone arrived, so I really hadn’t been able to use it much to get it started sooner, not that it mattered because I was within the 14 days.

So yeah - zero reason for all these issues, and the guy in the office of the president told me that there is no reason this should be an issue. Hopefully he’ll take care of it, but it has absolutely blown my mind that no one else, including escalation departments, has been able to do a da** thing. It’s absolutely ridiculous. And the amount of time I have wasted on the phone since Monday is unacceptable. A minimum of 5 hours, plus my wasted trip to the store.

This really frustrates me. I’m really sorry. Too bad you don’t live in my area. You could have come see me. I’m a more tenured rep and I get sh*+ done!

Just to share the beauty of the regular 15 in black. This is the closest thing to a true black Apple has ever made. Brilliant.

Awesome! I’m still shocked you even have to deal with this.

Yeah it’s been pretty insane. I have zero clue what the issue could be except that they just keep picking up the date I ordered it, even though the 14-day return period for online orders starts on the SHIP DATE. Just can’t figure out why their system can’t seem to get that.

I went from having three back to back Pro Max’s to the regular 15 in black this year, and in all honesty I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything not having a Pro. The phone is snappy, photos are incredible, and its SO light. So happy for this years decision and I’ve saved myself a few hundred ££’s.

I agree but back of my mind always wondering if I should have just spent the extra couple of hundred for the Pro. Just for the extra RAM and newer processor. Longevity concerns. I don't see them going higher than 8GB of ram for a long time, if ever, for a pocket device.

I have been super tempted to go non-pro, but I really want to get off this every year upgrade cycle, and I think the pro specs will last me a little longer.

Be mindful of the battery should that be something important to you. I had the 15 Pro and the battery life was not good. I’m usually near outlets and such but it was at best on par with my iPhone 11.

The difference in photo quality is marginal and the AOD is only useful in business meetings. Meanwhile the hit to weight, bulk, and battery quality is significant. Your heart keeps telling you to go Regular 15 but your mind keeps tricking you to go Pro 15. Follow your heart.

I know. The only thing is that I use the macro camera pretty often, and I think over the course of a couple years I’d likely miss it.

Also the pro does weigh less than my 14 pro, and it’s gonna feel noticeable coming from the pro max, so I think I’m gonna be happy with it.

But if I’m gonna have to wait a while to get the pro, I may wind up with a 15 - I just need to get this crap finished up before anything happens to this pro max.

Thing is, at this point I’ve gotten pretty used to the weight/size. Not to say after use it still doesn’t make me wish I had something lighter and smaller, but it definitely has gotten a bit more tolerable.

I wonder if it’s worse than 14 pro, as that is what I’m coming from (well obviously now I’ll be coming from a pro max, but I’ve only had it a couple weeks).

Don't do it, you're gonna regret it eventually IMO.
No matter if it's the screen, the camera system, the old chipset with the slow USB2.0 port - everything feels like you're paying a bit less just to get way less in return just like when you order the base spec of a car and have a lot of dummy switches afterwards...
