The iPhone 4 had the a4 which was the first Apple made chip, it had twice the ram, way better camera, front camera which was insane at the time, video chat, gyroscope, worlds thinnest phone, camera flash, exterior antenna, new design, retina display and so on. I've had every iPhone other than the first one and I can say the 4 was definitely the biggest upgrade.

Correction: to you, it felt like a big upgrade.

Apple loves people who are impressed with surface veneer and paper mache. In the end, the "A4" was a rebranded iPhone 3GS chip. As another poster mentioned, the 3GS actually outperformed the 4 in many GPU intensive tests. It was old tech in a shiny new wrapper. The absolute bottom of the list as far as under the hood upgrades.

Still doesn't change everything else in my post including double the ram which was part of the A4.

Wow, 2x the ram for a phone that couldnt do true multitasking, and whose devs held to the lower ram constraint of the 3gs to reach the max people. AKA, it was useless dumb storage, not capable of increasing performance.

You got got brah, apple pwned you

To the vast majority it was one of the bigger updates, even if performance-wise it wasn't much of a change.

Don't expect to much and you won't be dissapointed!!!!!!
While the iPhoine8 may have new features. Most likely there will be a bezel not edge to edge.
2) having Touch ID under the screen is great but if the space is being used by virtual buttons what's the big difference
3)Wirelesd charging. What's the big deal I might as well carry a lightning charger with me

Enough said
Hopefully I'm wrong

Except touchid under the screen won' t happen , it will be in the apple logo on the back this year. Touchid in screen won' t be available till next year.

I seriously doubt that Apple would put their fingerprint scanner on the rear of their phone.

And im helping those misguided souls correct their thinking. They got manipulated by Apple. I want to help them not fall for it again

I don't think this next iPhone is going to be something out of this world. Much of it is hype and the fact that it's finally going to be a new design. So far from all the rumors that we've read, much of the features being implemented are things that are already available on Samsung phones.

Personally I've been hanging onto my 6+ for four years in anticipation of this release so I'm ready for an upgrade regardless.

I read that earlier. MacRUMORS. Let's let it all shake out over the next few months.
Is a new rumor, it is also posted on ai and 9to5 mac today.
This is the start of apple deliberately leaking some info to let us get used to the idea that touchid will be on the back of the iphone 8/x

Honestly, the fingerprint reader being on the back isn't as bad as many make it out to be. The biggest thing is retraining your muscle memory to use it on the back, instead of the front. Once you get your mind adjusted to it not being on the front, it really isn't all that bad at all.

tech is hard to improve these days and those features on IOS is what is needed to improve.

there have been rumours of some kind of facial recognition but chances are most will use touch ID under the screen.

That is somewhat true... The thing is, we've seen Samsung consistently doing things to bring innovations to the market. I'm talking about from both a features, and a design standpoint. Apple on the other hand, has been lagging behind in those departments. I don't want to see them simply come out with a phone that is essentially a Galaxy imitation. I want to see them come out with an iPHONE that is an iPhone. If a person wanted a Galaxy, they'd get a Galaxy.

Side Note:
I REALLY hope they bring USB C to the iPhone. I'd love to see Apple finally admit defeat with lightning, and use an actual industry standard. It would be nice to be able to ask to use someone's charger, and not have to worry about what kind of phone they have (once microusb and lightning have fully been phased out).
