Like you, I barely store anything on my phone outside of some Apple Music. I have the 128GB model and still have over 70GB left. You should be fine.

Yeah, I also prefer to store locally for trips and such where I don’t have decent internet access. I have used 120gb out of 256. The biggest culprits are 72gb used by movies and shows (stored in the TV app) and 11.5gb of music (stored in the Music app). Is 72gb of video content necessary? Absolutely not, it’s just something I like to have with me. I like not having to think about storage at all
So I’ve spent a day with my 12 mini. I definitely like the reduced size and weight relative to the regular 12. But man, I couldn’t help but feel a bit claustrophobic while texting back and forth with a friend ha

Nothing is holding me back. I got the phone that I wanted, the 12 Pro. All I'm saying is, if I couldn't get the one I wanted and had to pick between one that was bigger, the Pro Max, or a smaller Mini, I would choose the Mini over a Pro Max.

I had 30GB full on my XS before switching to 128GB on mini. There were a lot of unused space for future.

My only doubts are about that I maybe want to put older photos (from 6 to XS) in the eventually new phone 😅
I understand your point of view but I watch everything on my iPad, so no need for exrea-space for this purpose on the iPhone (my iPP was a 64gb and this could be a problem for this purpose, but that’s another problem 😂)

The Mini has eliminated this clamoring I’ve always had to get another phone, whether that be Android or iPhone. That alone sums up how much I have enjoyed it. I haven’t even been around this forum in a month or so.
If it was $599, you would see a lot of comments here how that was just too high and hard to justify, and at $499 it would be a buy.
That said, most buyers are getting a subsidy, or paying monthly so MRSP is pretty irrelevant. So most simply get the size and features they want. I wanted it bad enough to pay $850 for a 128GB with AppleCare and sales tax. I am completely unable to justify that price and just wanted it. Am happy two months later. Bigger screen, faster, better battery life. You can keep the 2 handed full experience of the 12 regular. I had 5 years of it with my 6S.

Well, with access to Apple TV or a newer smart TV, I can just stream the video content from my phone to the big screen. But I understand that 128gb is enough for most folks of course

Mini has been a fabulous phone so far. It just works butter smooth and the size is absolutely perfect. Battery life has been good as well, albeit I've never been a so-called "power user" so most phones would last full two days in my use anyways.
I am looking for a new, high quality leather wallet case though. I bought a cheap wallet case from my local hypermarket and it's straight up trash and I can't wait to get rid of it. Any suggestions?

Consider the Apple leather case or sleeve, Bullstrap case, or a Torro leather case.

Still loving the Mini - just about got used to the size, biggest adjustment is typing using the keyboard, and I'm relying more on the swipe feature. However the overall size and weight are fantastic - don't think I could ever go back to a heavier or larger phone, although I imagine Apple can get more screen in future by eliminating the bezel altogether and removing the notch.
One issue I'm having is that my wireless charger has stopped working. What's weird is that when I first got the Mini it worked fine with the charger (with or without the leather case). But recently it's stopped charging. The blue 'charging' light activates when I place the phone on the charger - but it doesn't charge at all.

Have you tried restarting the phone? This is a well known problem with the 12 series not working properly with third-party wireless charger. Many users report that restarting the phone makes it charge Wirelessly for a few days, then they have to restart the phone again.

Thank you! Had no idea about that - but yes, just restarted the phone (which I very rarely do) and it's working fine again now. Good to be aware that this is an issue with third party chargers. Apple don't seem to sell this sort of stand, but it would make me cautious of buying a more expensive fast charger from a third party now. Is it just an issuer with wireless charging, or is it happening with third party wired chargers as well?
If you have a lot of photos, iCloud really makes up for any lack of local storage. Once you have "optimized storage" enabled, it gives you access to your entire photo library no matter how large, but only pulls in high-res images as needed.
This issue is only with third-party wireless chargers, third-party wired chargers work perfectly well. Since this seems to be a software issue, I hope Apple resolves it soon via a software update.

Thanks - it does sound like there should be a software fix. I've had intermittent issues with 3rd party wired chargers over the years, but I think that's mostly quality control (i.e. cheap components) rather than compatibility. I'm still not convinced by the new magsafe chargers - but would consider getting one that is also a phone stand
Been using the blue 12 for a few days and I’m enjoying the experience. Initially it was pretty jarring coming from the 12 but I’m definitely used to it now. I like how I forget it’s in my pocket sometimes.

Considering that the mini is the worst seller out of all the 12, Apple should of price it cheaper. Somehow I get the feeling Apple priced it so they can make the 12 look more attractive at only $100 more. I had consider the mini as a backup but felt it was price too high for what it is.

People that get the Mini are buying it because they prefer the smaller size. The cheaper price is a nice additional benefit.
It has the exact same hardware as the 12 except for the screen size. If it is priced too high for what it is, then the 12 must be also.

I think that the mini sell less because the launch day was a month later. Maybe a lot of people with upgrade programs simply couldn’t and/or don’t want to wait it, for example.

We also don’t know how well it sold overall. We have data from just one country that suggests it wasn’t as popular. The world is a big place outside of the united states.

It doesn't have the same specs as the 12 as it has a smaller battery. The 12 is a better value because of it's bigger battery.
Explain why it's having a hard time selling, if it's not overprice? It's the worst seller out of the 12 series.
