I am itching! (No, it's not eczema.) 4 days to go until pre-order. I even have all the options set in a bookmark in the Apple Store app. I just have to hit go.
Hmm...the iPhone mini isn’t available to select for preorder yet...

IF I upgrade it will be to the mini in part due to price and in part due the fact I have super small hands and a large screen phone is tough for me to hold. I had a Motorola that was 5.2 inch screen and that was good but size was a bit small(16GB)

It is listed next to (above) the regular 12 and you can select color and storage variants, whether you want to trade in or add AppleCare+ coverage. There is just nothing activated past that point, but you can set reminders to be sent notifications when pre-order is open. But I won't rely on those reminders....

I wish I could just get my hands on a mini already! I want to make a final decision between it and my 12 Pro. I’ve got to stop reading things about the mini and just wait to try it. I’m driving myself crazy trying to decide.

You only have to wait another 11 days or so for it to be in stores.

edhchoe, what case is this? I’ve got the Spigen liquid Crystal case for my 12 mini and yours looks similar.
I have the same case for my 12 also.

Morning all

Going to order iPhone 12 mini on Friday still undecided on colour, Blue or Black.
Will pop into local EE store and have a look at the 12 then decide.

In the meantime ordered a case/ screen protector and also 20w charging brick.
So far case has arrived.

With the UK lockdown, it looks like I need to wait until Dec when the stores can possibly re-open.

People on the iUP can not upgrade without going in store in the UK.

Just to let you know I saw the colors on the 12's at the Apple store and the white is more of an ivory shade....it looks really good and has a rich pearl sheen to it but I wanted to make you aware it's not a true white so you won't be disappointed 🙂

Yes the lockdown from Thursday was a surprise for me but COVID deaths are rising so Boris had no choice. My wife has a good friend at her gym who works at the Apple store and was going to use her employee discount of 17% for me, so I would have gotten the 12 mini 64g for only £580, but alas that’s not gonna happen now as the Apple store is going to be closed for a while. Instead I’m going to order from pc world as have 6% discount from my work.

These are same and been using them for quite some time. New colors are awesome too!

Bought pitaka and Latercase variants in the past.
This is half the price and quality wise just as good.
Wasn’t expecting that was a blind purchase.

Well, my fine lady just surprised me with a 256GB Pacific Blue Pro “Birth-mas present”. o_O

So I guess I’m out of the Blue Mini sweepstakes. Of course, it doesn’t look like I’ll actually be getting my phone until Nov 23rd at this point, so I’ll have the option of cancelling the order (like a total ingrate) if the Mini gets rave reviews and the FOMO is too great.

But all told, I really wanted that Tele lens + LiDAR, and I’m definitely not willing to alter my lifestyle to accommodate the ginormous 12 Pro Max, so maybe the 12 Pro really was the best phone for me this year and she just saved me a lot of needless agonizing... (She’s good for that.)

I am getting mini 128gb with Apple care. Nice!

I am unsure about the color (leaning towards blue), does anyone know of a iPhone 12 color comparison thread? I’d rather have images than a video tbh
There was a thread in this very subforum, just scan through the next 2-3 pages in the threads listing.

I'm most likely going to go from iphone 12 pro to the iphoen 12 mini. Tele lens is cool but I think I have use that all less than 10 times with my iphone 11 pro. As for LiDAR, I honestly don't see any use for that for a while (I also don't game at all). Maybe taking measurement, but I don't want to pay $300 extra for things "I might use"...

Totally hear you on that. In my case, I’m a photographer and the Tele lens is actually my preferred focal length (52mm) and I also happen to take a lot of photos at night or in low light, so the added focusing speed provided by LiDAR will definitely come in handy.

While I resent the model selection to an extent (i.e. what I really want is a “12 Pro Mini”), I do appreciate that Apple has given us license to take stock of our actual needs and usage requirements, and buy accordingly. The more expensive models offer features that really aren’t worth the added cost for a lot of users.

Understood. In that case you should jump on the pro max! For that ultimate awesome camera 😀
