What are people looking for in Beta 6, beyond bug fixes?

What I wish I'd see: redesigned springboard, new icons (enough with the Aqua gloss!), vastly more responsive UI.

What I expect to see: none of the above.

I believe in the possibility of beta 6 coming out today. Bring on the bug fixes :D

Yeah I can't with losing service. And I always lose it right when I'm about to make an important phone call.

Really? Not for me man. Beta 5 has been a rock for me. Occasional icon wonkiness but that doesn't bother me. A quick reboot and all was back to normal. I've hardly had any issues. Text input has been great, Safari has crashed much less for me than on 2.2.1, apps open quickly, etc. Overall, I have been extremely pleased with beta 5

Me too. For me, Beta 5 is very stable, and quite fast. There must be something weird going on.

Me too, and then it takes 20-30 seconds to re-acquire signal. HIGHLY annoying!!! It seems to be happening about 4-5 times a day. That is to say, I notice it about 4-5 times per day - who knows how often it's actually doing it (in my pocket, sitting on the desk, etc) and I just don't see it.

Amen to that

to everyone having this signal issue, are u using the 2g or 3g iphone? just wondering if its only happening to one or the other..

and what provider are u on? at&t? because i am using the 3g on at&t and i have never had this problem with any of the beta's..

beta 5 is very solid.. not saying i dont expect improvements, but for what it is i dont have any problems..

just waiting for the final release!!!! but beta 6 should hold me off till then, if it is ever released.....

In Japan so no EDGE network - SoftBank 3G, never had any problems with reception until beta 5. I bought my iPhone at 12pm on launch day, so I've been through all of the firmwares. The first firmware (2.0) was a little bit dodgy as far as reception goes but the worst I saw was 2-3 bars in areas that have since 2.0.1 (?) always - and yes, I mean ALWAYS - shown a full five bars of signal. Since installing beta 5, my phone completely loses signal at least 4-5 times per day, that I notice. About a week or two ago I even did a full restore and set it up as a new phone, but that didn't help, at all.

I think we could raise the white flag boys. Its 7:50 EST I'm calling it. No Beta 6 today

If it's not out within the next few hours, I'm going to jailbreak/downgrade to 2.2.1 this afternoon ... I can't stand having a non-working phone any more.
