Still deciding between the Air and Pro. I absolutely love the Air and even though I use my phone very little my decision boils down to;

When I do pickup my phone do I want it to do everything or am I okay with the basics?

On the rare occasion I need a 4x lens is it better to have it or not? Or the one day I’m at an event or traveling where I’m running low on battery life, do I want to worry about that? There’s something to be said for not having to worry about when you use your phone regardless of how often. After all, the one time you need something and it’s missing is the moment you forget all the positives and focus on the negative.

My new air (black, 512) arrived today and just setting it up now. Is very nice so far.

Out of interest has anyone had any damage issues with using their Air/Pro with MagSafe like they did in the Apple stores?

Sort of wish the air had a glass back like my 15 pro as this looks more prone to damage, hopefully I’m wrong!
I have MagSafe iPhone mounts in my cars and have not had any issues come up on my Air in the week I have had mine. YMMV . . .

I am! 17 Pro here. Initially wanted to skip this year's release but figured I’d like a better camera on my phone. So I got the 17 pro and love it!

That’s good to hear as that was my concern. The mount in my car has metal on the outside. Even though the centre has a layer of thin rubber, it was the metal edge made me think of the Apple Store issues. Glad you’ve not had any problems. Will keep an eye on mine though as the black is likely to show it the most I guess…

Got mine yesterday too soon to say. Did get UAG case for it with kickstand that looks cool. Paid 400 bucks with trade in and tax. Got case free because I had Amazon gift cards. Also had 200 dollars in Apple Gc's from my hotel stays. I always go with the PRO..Also 16 pro screen protector fit on my 17 pro,
UAG Civilian? It is sooo large… I’ve also had this monstrocity on my 11 Pro back in the days😃 Phone was like 1.5 times larger but at least gave me square corners (which are in all new iPhones as a default).

Big plus of all UAG cases is that they are basically indestructible and phone is getting perfectly preserved inside (so you will probably see no scratches even in 3 years of active use), huge minus: phone overheats a little due to thick rubber all around + increased size

Do you have large hands? Asking for my mother, who has small arthritic small hands and is afraid of getting anything bigger than her 6.1" 14 Pro.
New Pro models also weight more, basically iPhone Pro and regular do not differ in terms of size, but regular weights less. Air could be option too but it is much larger. So probably regular 17 is worth to consider

The 6.1" 14 Pro and and 6.3" 17 Pro are around the same weight anyway. It's just the 12 Pro and 15 Pro that are lighter in weight.

17PM is fine, iOS 26 feels way slower than my 14PM and iOS 17. You can literally see springboard icons refresh one at a time when swiping across pages (takes 2-3 seconds to fully populate a page of web bookmarks folders). WTF Apple?!

I could not go with the Pro colors so I bought a black iPhone Air. The pluses are:
I always knew I had the brick shaped pro in my pocket. Now, my hand ache and hip ache are gone.
A huge bonus is I hold the phone with my index finger under the camera bump and it is the most comfortable and efficient way I have ever been able to use an iPhone.
The minus: the speaker is embarrassingly tinny sounding.

My youngest son just got his 17pro. He loves it, has had no Wi-Fi issues. Phone is in an Apple silicon case so scratch free. He charges via cable every night

I love the Air. The battery lasts longer than my 15P did when new-I'm tired of hearing people who don't own it say the battery is compromised. It's superior to any iPhone I've owned. Yes, it is less long-lasting than the Pro Max but I didn't buy one of those. It is light, fast, and I'm not having any FOMO related to the cameras. Pictures so far have been great and I guess I will be putting some actual effort into the composition of my shots. I have the original MagSafe battery but haven't needed it and that is saying something considering that I live in a rural area where signal is often weak. I'll have moved on to the next life before mmWave is a thing out here so I don't miss what I've never had. If I used the speaker, I would be on the side of those that are accurately reporting that it is weak and not nearly loud enough (all true). iPhone is such a mature product now that I have 0 excitement about them or even watching the keynotes anymore. I'm happy for all the Pro/Pro Max users that they have improvements worth paying for and I'm happy for me that I get to be excited about another device (X and 13mini were my absolute favorites).

17P blue 256gb

Very happy this thing addresses the not great battery life I had with my brief period of using 16P and has been a terrific upgrade from my trusty 16+

Flipped it for a good amount too to partially offset the cost

Can’t really complain

I’m very happy with my 1TB 17 Pro! I came from a 13 Pro, which I also very much liked. I hope this new one is as rock-solid. Time will tell! :)
