Oh, lol. Gotcha! I'm so used to getting responses such as "it's called modular ULTRA for a reason". As if that's justification for a standard digital watch face to be locked to a large, expensive watch. :D
But their internal response is probably closer to "if you like it then buy the other model."

Right, but electric seats could be considered a luxury item and you could justify having to pay more for them.

Doing that for what should be a standard digital watch face is absurd. Especially for people who don't a want watch as big as an Ultra or as expensive as an Ultra.

I agree very frustrating and annoying.
Maybe my example was not the best, sorry.🤷🏽🤦🏻
It was more the principle.

That picture is a good example of where Apple could have made a choice to eliminate the ring showing the seconds and replace it with digital seconds. They made the more artistic choice. I do like the look a lot, but it adds a mental load to quickly come up with a number.

When I'm watching logs, I have conversions to make. I'm on the west coast. Some logs are east coast time. Some logs are UTC. I am always having to add 5 hours, or 8 hours, or 7 hours (if daylight savings time). And, the UTC logs are in 24 hour format. The mental load is quite high for me. Having my watch just tell me the full time in big numbers would help. As it is now, I just don't use my Apple watch for that at all. I did find a multi timezone clock with full digital display for macOS and just use that.
It's really nice how there's so many options to configured that face. You can remove the outer ring, make the time huge and stretched out or smaller, only have a few of the complications, etc.

Got rid of 2 of my favourite watch faces, disappointing.

Ok not a fair comparison, but.

Imagine getting a fancy smancy Rolex, and waking up one morning and there was stuff missing from the dial. I’d be fuming.

Don't be. Just shake it around a bit, you'll most likely find the missing pieces rattling around under the crystal somewhere. It's usually an easy fix for a qualified watchmaker.
;)

Y’all seen codes inside some Apple Watch bands boxes like Nike straps? They just have the faces that match the colour of the band. Saw this inside the new gym red strap box.

Mine works fine it's the ultra with 6 options [Temp, Loop Rings, Battery], Heart Rate, [Sleep Pattern, Sunrise/Sunset and UV levels with the time in the middle. Sure ican customise it but omg i like seeing everything w.o even having to touch it

Same here!
AOD is also a great thing to see the time and complications when I’m working with my hands a lot like workout, being on the CNC machine or on my desk.

I didnt have mine on personally, which is how I managed to squeeze 2-2.5 days of battery life off it. [not on low powermode]. Apple stated 36 Hours on normal mode with moderate viewing/use which means i'm actually getting more than I expected - impressive

I might test it one day AOD and see how much of a drop it is, that said i don't check the watch obsessively [ive also been using the phone a lot too] except for notifications and maybe turning on the workout/exercise leg of the walk with a press of the orange button. which is why I sort of had AOD off; rotating the wrist to bring it up is seamless

edit- the only time i sort of wish for AOD is when its on sleep mode; thats when rotating wrist doesn't work.. makes youy havet to press a button to get the info i guess its a preventive thing to prevent detraction of sleep by hacing extra steps

that might be why... [off topic] even my iPhone 16 Pro Max gets a bit warmish these days [on beta software] when it was touted it'd have better cooling over the 15 Pro Max.

What other improvements are coming to beta currently on the watch, i havent tried to do beta run as its always on my wrist all day

Betas currently only have the new black history faces as the most significant change for watchOS beta.

Performance-wise, the biggest change is the battery health. Many Apple Watch Ultra and S6-10 users have reported that the battery health is miscalculated. You can find a thread discussing this here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/watchos-11-beta-thread.2428813/

Yeah i found the battery part on the Watch very ... simplified/too basic , unlike the phone it actually gave you options to control it. i mean given the insanity of this batt i dont think im evn close to dropping 100% to 99% over 4 months+ since owning this beauty.

offtopic ; even my iPhone 16 promax, at 180 charges is still at 100% capacity... something doesnt seem right,
i expected ti to drop 1-2% at least... after all that

not that i have an discerning issue with this ultra2 watch because it goes 2.5 days [which is impressive] i dont think ive even dropped below 30% in my last 4 months with it because for sleep track overnight it requires more batt to ensure it doesnt run out overnight so i end up always charging it up now if i didnt do sleep tracking then id probably get 3 days by squeezing an extra 30% off... but because of tracking sleep pattern/heart rate... needs to be always toppped up just to get through
even 10 minute along would give 10-15% which is nuts - thats all it needs for overnight tracking

Is your Apple Watch Ultra 1st or 2nd generation? When did you buy it?

It only sometimes has an optimized charging limit. Unlike Apple Watches, you can’t set a fixed charging limit to limit charging from a certain percentage. Instead, only temperature, charging frequency, and other factors cause this feature to appear. Optimized charging limits limit Apple Watches from charging past 80%.

I only saw this feature on my Apple Watch Series 6 for the first two months. After doing the twice-charging routine, it disappeared.

If you bought your Apple Watch Ultra for less than a year, don’t do the beta. It’ll reduce the battery from 100% to 95-91%. Many Apple Watch Ultra 2 users complained about this bug, even with the black tatty models. The Apple Watch Series 10 and other newer models also got affected. This bug is in the watchOS 11 beta thread I’m co-leading. The OP who is an Apple Watch Ultra user don’t have the time to manage it anymore so I co lead it:
