Who got a MBP for Christmas?

I did!! I got myself a 15" i7 2.9 GHz, 4GB RAM,500 GB HDD and matte screen for Christmas. It replaces my MB 13" Black 2.4 GHz C2D, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD. I really love this machine. It's fast and runs cool. The only thing I noticed as a small glitch, is that the wi-fi reception isn't as good as that of the older MB. The aluminum case has much to do with that, I'm sure. No problem though, as wi-fi is still running well enough, so I can't complain. I wasn't going to get it now, but I was getting tired of my 13" MB (the screen resolution of the Intel video was terrible). Glad I got it!

Run Windows on your Mac?

I did!

My first Mac ever

15" 2.8 i7, 8GB RAM, 500GB(7200RPM), fully loaded with software from Final Cut Express to Microsoft Office Suite

So far a nice computer but it runs extremely hot when encoding video, and does it signifigantly slower than my old Core 2 quad Dell laptop.

I did too. Bought a mint 2nd hand Mid 2009 13" MacBook Pro. Never used one before but I own an iPad and an iPhone 4 so thought i'd test the water.

Planning on upgrading to SSD in the future but in the meantime i've stuck a WD Black Scorpion 500gb 7200rpm in it. This HDD will get fired into an optibay when I buy a SSD.

I recommend you try the Magic Mouse before you buy it, its very thin and uncomfortable. I had one and it was horrible, ended up getting a Razer Orochi and it was the same price...very happy with it.

I agree, the Magic Mouse is not ergonomic which is why I use a Razer Deathadder. I'm going to upgrade to a Razer Mamba when I buy an iMac. Razer makes great mouses (or mice, idk how it works with the electronic mouse). I love Razer.

I got an Apple gift card for the value of a 15". My dilemma is wether I should get it now or wait and what model to get and I also need to decide on the screen.

why get a mbp when the mba has been updated and is the future of the entire macbook line?

It is just not powerful enough, my MBP is running FCE right now and the render is telling me a ridiculous 30 hours remaining, and that is with the i7. I hate to think how long it would take on the MBA

I got mine as a belated Christmas present.
C: And despite the fact that the 13" MBP is undergoing a revamp this coming year, I'm not regretting having the 2010 model.
It runs really nicely, and I got it just in time so that I can do all my schoolwork on it!
