Is your new iPad perfect?

Just got mine like 45 minutes ago and it seems perfect. I looked for the "yellowing" and light bleed / exposure and I don't see any of that so far.

Got mine this morning, and it seems perfect to me so far. Nice screen, and it sounds like it has a speaker boost aswell. Deffo has more volume to the sound compared to ipad 2 imo.

And retina optimized iphone apps look really good on it too. Really glad I upgraded.

ME!

Reading some of the posts on the apple centric blog sites seems to highlight the worldwide problem that I like to call early adopters (or most likely, jealous bastard can't afford one so will make **** up about it) munchausen's syndrome.

Typified by comments such as:

It overheats and I can fry eggs on it
There are hundreds of dead pixels
It's yellow
It's pink
Light bleeds
The battery runs out in 5 minutes
The wifi reception seems weaker
it uses more data
Etc etc.

Perfect for me, have slight light bleed but nothing that bothers me enough to consider taking it in for a return. No yellow tint either or dead pixels.

Mine was perfect (Awesome Screen, No Yellow, Popping Colours, etc.) until I dropped it and scratched the casing.. :(

Mine has a tiny, and I mean tiny, practically un-noticeable mark at the bottom on the bezel/edge. I can only see if I really look for it, half the time I forget it's there because I look and can't see it, then if I angle it correctly under light I can spot it.

I don't care about it. My iPad has practically zero backlight bleed, no dead pixels, the screen isn't yellow and there's not a mark on it anywhere else. I could exchange it but why bother? It's not worth the effort, if I do re-sell it on later then it's probably going to have another knock or two, not that anybody in the real world is all that OCD, certainly not people looking for second hand iPads.

Perfect 64gb wifi and I'm totally OCD..

No screen bleed, dead pixels to speak of.

It does run a bit warm down the left hand side, even under normal use..but I'm happy to live with it.

I had an original
iPad.. then added on a Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 and have suffered with the wonky gtab 10.1 for months until now,

This new iPad is amazing, it is so much faster than both then iPad and galaxy 10.1.

Though the screen looks great, I really appreciate how it just works, without screen lag, keyboard/tap lagging (galaxy 10.1).

I gave the gtab a fair shot with both hc3.2 and ics pre-release and it just doesn't hold a candle to the iPad 3.

Ill keep the gtab around for video streaming to Dlna devices or when I feel like hacking... The iPad 1 has gone into an otter box and my 15 month old loves it.

I almost went with a tegra 3... Glad I held out l.

I still think im going to pick up a MacBook air after the refresh. Tablets have been great for data consumption and games, but I find them frustrating to use for generating documents, or anything involving a lot of typing.

Sigh. I had a perfect White 16GB Verizon. I decided to exchange for a 32 GB. This is what I have. Didn't even take off the plastic. Returning it tomorrow. Sigh. I have OCD and I will see it when I lay it on my bed or any table. I miss my iPad.

EDIT: Picture should be rotated. Too upset to deal with it.

Mine checks out:

Zero backlight bleed

The tone is a perfect balance between warm and cool- I have compared it to multiple display models and have seen a large spectrum with some on the far cool blue end and some on the far warm yellow end. Mine is right in between- it looks cool compared to the yellow ones and warm compared to the blue. Whites look white and colors pop.

Heat: It gets slightly warm after using for long periods but never hot.

No dust or dead pixels.

I also noticed that mine was much brighter than the display models I saw when set to the same brightness levels. Not sure why that is.

The speaker on mine is also great. Much louder and fuller than any of my other apple products.

All in all it's a keeper!

4-5 dead pixels here :( I'm very disappointed! However, the store will replace it for me when the stocks arrive :) All good!

Picked up mine when it was released yesterday in Denmark, had a reservation and was told it was ready, still went in for the hype and stand in line, couldnt sleep anyway ;)

Mine is perfect, i cant see any pixel problems, i cant see any light bleeding, theres a micro yellow hint in the screen, but i dont like the cold blue, tester with my screen calibrator and its apparently like it should be, it i take a real white picture it is actually white, so its not really yellow if you understand what i mean.

Now i just wish that Zagg had sended my invisible shield HD on the date they said because its very delayed and all the sudden comes from the US instead of europe warehouse so here comes the huge import tax  and right now i have a crappy protector on and just a smart cover shile i wait for avaiability of some nice covers in europe

I'm in the same boat. I had a perfect 16GB black Verizon.. but was running out of storage space so exchanged it for a 32GB with an uneven white screen with pink/green hues. Waited a few days to see if it would go away, and if I could live with it.. turns out I cant.

Off to Apple store tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Went to the store and they exchanged it. Replacement is perfect. Finally I'm content.

+14% defect rate.

Yes, it's like walking into a hospital and asking "who is sick here?" and 14% raise their hands....

For a Macrumors audience to claim 14% had a problem, that means that in the REAL world that percentage is probably less that 1%...
