Don't have any issues with it, got my online and came on launch day :D, I am happy with my iPad enjoy using it.

Just thought I would chip in my experience!

I am on iPad number 3.

The first one was delivered on launch and had chips in the aluminium around the screen.

The second had backlight bleed (really annoying).

Now my third is ok but has a dead pixel.

I really can't be bothered to change it again, sods law I would end up with one worse anyway! :)

My preordered iPad had a piece of hair in between the LED and the glass, swapped it out as soon as I got it from UPS by driving to my local Apple Store.

The new one is very good, except for a couple stuck pixels that I won't bother replacing because the pixels in a retina display are so small it's almost insane to replace this one and risk the next model having something else defective.

(I went through four 27" iMacs due to yellow tint issues, so I'm a guy that has a very low tolerancy with this type of stuff.)

Haven't a clue what perfect looks like. But i'm pretty sure mine isn't. But then again, who knows. :)

Mine has the warm tint in a gradient, warmer at the top left of the screen. I prefer the cooler tint of my iPad 1, whites are more white and keeps things sharp albeit the retina screen. Taking mine back, been waiting a week for the "glue to dry" I don't think it will!

My iPad is perfect. There are no screen issues and my iPad doesn't even get warm no matter how long I'm using it for.

My first one had a pink tint. My second one at first was yellowish but now it seems fine. Very nice :)

Bought 2 from apple.com. 1 went back yesterday due to 1 row of dim LED in the bottom right. I wanted to exchange but the Apple Store that I went to is OOS for 64GB white ATT model. They would not hold one for me when new stock comes in. So I just returned it and plan to reorder online.

The second one has no dead pixel or LED lighting issue. Today I was noticing that the battery is draining down faster than 10% per hour. I am going to restore and start from fresh this time rather than restore from backup. Also will keep the backlight no more than 75% and see if it helps.

Update
After fresh restore and setting brightness at 50% all day. Light use.
Both the heat and battery life is much improved. So I have 2 anecdotal observations.
1. Heating/battery consumption problem is partly related to iPad2 backup/100% lighting.
2. The auto light level sensing seems to be improved from previous iPad and iPad 2.
Tomorrow I will set the light level higher to see if there is an obvious deterioration.

Just opened mine tonight after being on of the orginal preorder's.

Gave'er a good one over before I put the speck case on and everything was good.

No uneven lightning, dust or dented casing.

Gosh I LOVE Apple!!!

Mine has zero defects. Screen is gorgeous. Battery lasts all friggin day. Charges up in about 6.5 hrs. Gets mildly warm (not hot) under heavy use. Love it.

I had bad luck this year. The first iPad I got had a huge gouge in the upper righthand corner. Apple sent me a replacement, which had an inch-long scratch running down the back. Another replacement has yielded a perfect specimen, with the exception of an ever-so-slightly loose sleep/wake button that rattles. Still deciding if I'm gonna exchange it, though probably not.

I had issues with iPad 2 and dust under the screen (no, I don't live or work in a dusty environment). First one I got had it within a week, and it wasn't just one speck, it was 2 or 3. I traded for a second one that had what looked like white residue on the under side of the screen (looked like a water mark kind of). Traded that one for one with a big giant white piece of debris dead center of the screen (didn't see it at the Apple store somehow). My fourth one was mostly perfect. Still had a couple of small pieces under the screen, but nothing that I could see with the screen on. It also came preinstalled with a couple of minor scratches on the bezel, but I decided to live with it, as I was out of patience by then.

My new iPad is perfect so far. No dust, no dead pixels, no weird light problems, no blemishes. I think sometimes when you get refurbs, since they are units that have been taken apart and put back together, they just get dust in there during the process. That doesn't really explain how I got dust in my original unit, but that's all I can think of.

But my new motto is "don't inspect". It's easy to inspect the iPad while you're wiping the screen off. Resist the urge. It will drive you batty.

No obvious problems with mine yet. Sure it gets a little warm after playing games for an extensive period but thats understandable. Doesn't take too long to charge (charging it overnight) and the battery lasts seemingly all day with moderate use.

All in all, I'm pretty satisfied.

Mine is perfect....but I had to return my first one, which had a strong yellow tint with patches of green and pink! It was a real bag of nails compared to this one, which is flawless, I love it!

Mine came with a tiny scratch/scuff on the back. When I run my finger nail over the scratch, it doesn't catch it. My screen is perfect. No dead pixels or appreciable edge bleed. Not enough of a problem for me to return given my excellent screen. Plus I know I'll eventually need to get it exchanged through Applecare.
