I got tons of em. Check the sig for the faster of the bunch, then add in a bunch of older PPC and 68k machines to top it off.

I have two. I wish apple had not stoped making them:( and yes i knowthere are 2 s in has.

No one cares.

I own an original cube, it's my primary desktop though I'd still rather have an intel mac replacement for it.

I have a few PowerPC Macs. The earliest one I have is an LC 580 that I upgraded with the motherboard of a Performa 5260, and the latest one I have is a Rev. C iMac running at 333 MHz.

Not very impressive machines, I tell you (especially the LC 580/5260).

I too wish Apple still used PPC

How on Earth have you been affected negatively by them choosing a more reliable chip provider? The idea that PPC was in some way more magical or romantic than Intel is ridiculous and stupid.

PowerBooks galore for me. They've been the mainstay of my computing for the better part of 4 years. Starting with a Ti 500, iBook 700, Ti 867, and finally an Al 1.33

I'm currently selling my 15" Powerbook, and will be restoring a 12" in the near future to take it's place. There is some sort of elegance of the old PowerBooks that I can't let go of. Not sure what it is...

iBook G4
iMac G5

And an Intel CD one

Honestly I plan to replace the iBook G4, if Apple lowered the Unibodies to 999. Can't bring my self to buy a X1300 Mac...but I do want FW!

I thought real a Mac had a 68k series CPU and a black and white display.

Clueless newbies. :p

+++++

BTW, The LISA was not a Mac it was an Apple LISA. Now if you want one there are said to be a bunch of them living in a commune in the desert, you just have to find them.:)

My 1.67ghz G4 Powerbook does everything I need it to do. I recently had the hard drive upgraded to 250g, so I'm set for a few more years. My daughter uses my G4 iBook, which had some repairs by Apple and runs fine.

Not that I wouldn't mind getting an Intel MBP!

I've never thrown away a Mac I've owned...which means I have eleven, not including Apple II variants stashed away somewhere...

My primaries are still both G4s (PowerBook & PowerMac) - though to be honest I can't wait until I can afford a brand new Intel Mac.

Got the latest and gr8test PPC EVAH!!.... Power Mac G5 Quad. ;)

Not my main Mac, mates. That'll be my Mac Pro!

One thing about the PPC era.... the secrecy and less predictability of the CPU upgrades made the rumors more fun.
With the Intel switch it is more of an educated guess, really.

OTOH... Apple were stuck @ 500 MHz on Moto's G4 for soooo loooong...! That almost broke it all.

Does your Unibody Macbook Pro have three USB, Firewire 400, Firewire 800, S-Video, Full DVI, etc? In fact does your Unibody Macbook pro have ports either side so you can plug in a mouse no matter which handed you are?

My non-unibody MBP has 2 USB ports (one per side), FW800 and 400, optical in/out, ExpressCard 34, and Dual-link DVI (with an adapter for vga, and another for S-video/composite). So :p

That might be seen as a good thing in retrospect. Moto and IBM were halfhearted in their development of suitable desktop and mobile CPUs - had the PPC been just a little bit better, Apple might have decided to stick with them and we'd be saddled with inferior hardware.

I've always been something of a PPC apologist, and the architecture had it's day, but ultimately Intel was the only real option moving forward. I wish AMD was a more competitive rival, because these days it's a one-horse race with Intel.

Yep.
The intro of the G5 (what a gr8 WWDC that was..!!!) seemed like the PPC had made a turn for the better.
A superb new Power Mac with excellent specs, and it looked like IBM had saved the PowerPC.
However, it never made the 3 GHz, and as it was impossible to get it into a laptop (or IBM wasn't bothered enough to really, really try... dunno...), and so we got another superb WWDC: Intel announcement.
I remember some "Threw up a bit in my mouth™" remarks back then, but man, hasn't it been a brilliant move! Alongside Boot Camp and Parallels, it just leaped us back into the lead really.

I do agree with Intel being more or less being a monopolist. Usually a bad thing in the long run...
I just wonder if Apple still are doing a secret dual binary of their OS...? You know, "Marklar", but then the other way around: Mac OS X 10.6 (and later) on PPC, but not officially, and certainly not released.... but deep down in the basements of 1 Infinite Loop....
