Hmm, I see where the confusion is/discrepancies with chip part# and model#
Odd... Apple did this to mess with us :p

Seems I got a uAP model, and tend to think I have the Samsung chip upon looking at Antutu app ,
But on iOS 10 beta 1 so reading may be off. And a lot of other apps lean towards TSMC, but model# I think may be the bottom line,

This one (first 64, other two were 16) has best built, no vertical interlacing/ nice home button, etc

Vertical interlacing- crunchy looking text comparatively, and when observation camera icon and even the pedals of the photo app, you can see "runny lines" vertically for lack of a better explanation. Shows itself easily against blue/facebook icon too (dont have app installed, but know where it rears its head)

Only problem is color temperature its a little warm up top, but I'll take it over runny lines. And doesn't always show.. And 64 was good for peace of mind,

But my 6s plus is definitely TSMC, and will keep that one around to SIM swap (not because its TSMC but because I like going back and forth between 4" and 5.5", iOS 9 jailbroken and bleeding edge iOS 10

So far battery seems fine on my SE so won't do the swap game anymore
And the only time my phone has gotten even remotely toasty (and it got very toasty, but did with my 16's as well) was when I did iOS 10 OTA with my phone baking in the passenger seat while driving around

My daughter and I have identical space grey 64 GB SE iPhones with Samsung chips. I didn't use an app, I simply checked under Settings > Privacy > Diagnostics and Usage > Diagnostics and Usage Data > Low Battery Log

In the low battery log data it lists your hardware model. It can be a pain in the tail to find if you have been running your iPhone awhile and have long lists of data. This log will not be generated until you run your battery completely down to shut off.

Ours was N69uAP.

We get decent battery life. No complaints.

My 6SPlus and my husband's are both Samsung chipped as well.

And from which source do you know that the N69uAP is definitely made by Samsung?

Someone posted a link to a page on a Wiki awhile back that had the info. I think it's also somewhere in a post earlier in this thread.

I think the model with uAP is Tsmc upon thinking about it more evidence than not.

mAP is my 6s plus which is tsmc for sure.

I think both my phones (including SE) are tsmc fwiw

God I wish people would stop "thinking" and instead use proven goddamn facts, which are:
Samsung manufactures the S8000 in the N69uAP model, the part number listed on the SoC is APL0898.
TSMC manufactures the S8003 in the N69AP model, the part number listed on the SoC is APL1022.

I got my SE two days ago and are not really impressed with the battery life (Samsung chip) under heavy usage. Currently running a GeekBench battery test.
Will buy another SE from eBay that has the TSMC chip and will test it's battery, too.
Will post conclusions wherever it's the same fiasco (under heavy usage) as it was with the 6s. Stay tuned.

UPDATE:
SE with TSMC chip arrived and got tested with GeekBench. Surprise, surprise (or maybe not so).. TSMC doesn't strain the battery like Samsung does. We can pretty much say that the "u" in N69uAP stands for "under performing". Testing was done three times on both phones. Both phones got their system restored completely and loaded with the same iCloud backups prior of testing. Both phones had no SIM card and were not connected to WiFi.

Either way if that's the case my Samsung SE has been spectacular battery life wise on 9.3.3 jail broken and tweaked out
Don't get me wrong, in comparison to my old 5s battery IS better, but not what I expected. If I find out that I'll get around 20% more battery on heavy usage, I'll send the Samsung based back or sell it on eBay.

PS: 9.3.3, wish I could get one with that iOS, pretty hard to find one by now *envy*

Is there really any difference? As to say, does it really matter what chip it has if it's working perfectly normal or is there a real world difference?

I have an Se with the Samsung chip or whatever you wish to refer to it as and it performs great for me. This thread is quite intriguing however.

For the average user who uses his phone lightly it probably isn't a huge difference.
I'm not. I'm fortunate to have a job in which I only work effectively for 3 hours during 12 hour shifts. Rest of the time is heavy usage of my phone and there the difference in battery lifetime IS significant.

I tested my SE (Samsung :-/ ) with 95% wear and see:

2G 5 bars all the time, Bluetooth always on, wifi 5GHz close to router... Maybe for 5 mins before it I was using phone...
Remember that GeekBench puts a constant workload on the phone. If your usage is similar to that, I feel with you. If not... well, you know better than me how long your phone lasts with your usage habits.

I am only concerned because phone I bough should work even longer than it does. That's all.
Still works fine but "emergency shutdown" drives me crazy. On Monday It shutted down on 28% when I was looking for geocache. It was in pocket and in hand with gps running all the time (the most power demanding thing - so there was heat ). It was only -2°C for God Sake and phone (battery?) temp was 10.1°C based on Battery Stats app.

I can't kill this phone in one day even when had gps on for 2h so it's great. iOS 9.3.5 forever (I don't believe iOS 10.2 .3 or so will be better )

I had a space grey SE and have since switched to a rose gold SE. Both are lucky to get TSMC chips. My rose gold SE came out of the factory during mid october

Yeah I'm thinking about 9.3.3 forever. Even when next jailbreak comes

How I can see manufacturer of my chip.
Antutu say it's TSCM but how I could see for sure?
We bother about really stupid things but than when people start to talk everyone is curious to see.
TSCM is bigger chip and that would be flaw if performance are same, but because TSCM is little better than better is TSCM.

Just checked today with the AX-CPU app and I have a TSMC.

AnTuTu is the safest one.

OK, I didn't saw post and I checked with AX-CPU... It's TSMC...
No I could vote. Looks like 70% have TSMC.

+1.
Yea, that's not important if cell phone work without problems.
I agree.
Some of people say TSCM is faster but Samsung is not so hot... maybe is true, maybe not.
But both work great and iPhone SE is jackpot and for customers and for Apple.
Example score on my iPhone SE is not 132.xxx as on review, it's 127.xxx...
OK I saw more people even with 124.xxx ... my CPU Score is same or even higher than review but main is 127.xxx almost 128.xxx
