But battery difference is huuuuuuuuuge?
I remember that on my 2 tsmc/samsung 6s geekbench battery life difference was 2h which indeed is huge. Though I dont think you'll get this extreme situation in normal usage, but still I think it's better to have a TSMC...

there is a rumor saying that for the SE they've put all TSMC cpu on rose gold and gold colors :)

But battery difference is huuuuuuuuuge?

90% of the people in the world wouldn't notice or couldn't care less about which processor their phone has. Real world usage between the two, like I said before, is marginal at best. The way some on here act, you'd think TSMC processor got 8hrs more battery than the Samsung one.

Before this Samsung/TSMC thing was brought to light, nobody cared or given noticed a difference between the two. Now that somebody mentioned it, now people are paranoid. "OMG my phone, that up until now had no issues, is no slower with less battery....atleast in my head it is.....I think" lol.

I've had my 6S since launch day, and I honestly have no idea what processor is in my phone. I don't know if it's Samsung, TSMC, or Walmart. And I honestly don't care. As long as my iPhone works, I'm good lol

Damn it... Samsung this time... I had TSMC chips for my 6S... GOD DAMN IT... Returing it today, will keep change until I get TSMC... Not gonna spend my money on subpar parts...

How will u swap out ur phone until u get a TSMC one?

I wish forums like this would ban any user that openly states he/she returns a working phone just because it has a different chip manufacturer. I also wish Apple had a way of keeping track of this and also bar you from making future exchanges.

Why? If it is in 15 day window, why shouldn't I change? I paid for the phone, I demand that I have a perfect phone. Bar me from exchange? None sense.

That is simply not true. Over a day it would make little if any noticeable difference!

I don't care if the difference is 1 hour or 5 minutes. It is well known that Samsung chips is more power hungry than TSMC... And I will not accept that. I paid full price for the phone, tell me why should I accept the compromise? It is not like one is cheaper?

Isn't that window to exchange for something different or to exchange because of some defect or issue (or just to return)? Not really sure how that would apply to simply trying to exchange for the same thing without an issue, let lone potentially doing that multiple times.

LOL! Go for it!

Only snowflakes expect things to be perfect. Best of luck in life.

Have you thought about seeing a psychologist? Obsessive tendencies like yours can't make life much fun.

You're talking about two functionally identical chips in a phone, being pointed out by apps that clearly have no idea which is which, as most here see discrepancies when testing with more than one app. The thing that's most shocking here is that everyone is going by apps that may or may not know the chip because no one can tell the difference otherwise.

Samsung chipped phone owners in this thread are comical. Instead of attempting to trade for TSMC chipped phones, they have to lie to themselves about it making little or no difference.

Most of them not giving it even a first thought, let alone a second thought, and just using the devices that are just fine.

I haven't, and don't plan to check mine.

I'd be interested to see some proof of a difference though. If there's legitimate, actual proof, by all means - show all the "comical" people with Samsung chips in their phones how much better your device is.

That's like having an ailment and not going to doctor because you don't want to face the problem. You ignore it or lie to yourself that everything is ok. That's just silly.

There are numerous test done with charts and figures if you search. Lots of people are still complaining about poor battery life and 99.9% of the time they have a Samsung chip. Once they exchange it for a TSMC chipped phone they are amazed by the difference in battery life as well as speed.

If they're so plentiful and there's so much evidence, provide links. I'm not going on some wild goose chase when you're the one attempting to prove your claim.

If this is truly the issue that you and some of the other special snowflakes in this thread are making it out to be then there must be some hard evidence somewhere. Provide it, and not only will I admit it if I'm wrong, I'll also post the result of which chip is in my SE to sweeten the deal.

It's pretty wide open...

You will like this :)

Here's the highlight... Kinda goes against the grain of many comments in this thread. I know there are others with opposite results but still, Toms is well respected.

Conclusion

Based on the results of our testing, it's clear that both versions of Apple's A9 SoC deliver the same level of performance, but Samsung's 14nm FinFET process appears to offer slightly better power efficiency, extending battery life between 3.5-10.8 percent.

There are also hundreds of reports about people "definitely" seeing Alien UFOs... yet there's no hard evidence. Understand the difference?

lol

Hard evidence us all over this forum and the Internet. I'm not going to spoon feed it to you.

Some people choose to exchange it until they get a TSMC chip and become satisfied. But then others ignore/make excuses. At the end if you are happy knowing you paid the same as someone else with a better product then more power to you.

I would put the people who believe in UFOs in the same group of looney people who don't believe there are any problems with Samsung chips.

Apple let me exchange mime for the good chip. The genius totally understood and said that he did the same with his personal phone.

Again, all you have to do is link some of this proof you keep talking about. One piece of hard evidence showing a discrepancy between the chips. The fact that you keep attempting to deflect in order to not do so is incredibly telling.

Smh. First world problems. Stop the bickering and enjoy life.
Although I agree with above I've tested battery life with geekbench and for my TSMC I've 5:53 runtime.

It's almost 2 more hours than with samsung cpu who gets around 4hours. So there is a huge difference under some usage type whatever people here want you to believe.
