The excitement surrounding iPhones is long gone. And that's not bad.

With the true innovation, change and refinements happening in the Google Camp, I'm using my satisfactory iP6S.Plus as a suitable secondary device to my stellar Nexus 6P.

Apple's time in the sun is waning, they can't be expected to lead forever.

Technically, sure. My iPhone 5 is still perfectly usable. I'm still on my parents' plan, and they operate on the idea of replacing tech when it breaks. And there is kind of an order to our upgrades. My dad has a 4S, and he is next to get a new phone whenever he decides that his 4S no longer meets his needs. My brother also has a 4S but got it after I got my 5 (funnily enough, the day the 5s was announced), and my mom just got a 5s last year.

If it were up to me I would get the 6s today and not wait for the 7. I wanted to see what the SE would be, but it's not enticing enough for me to want it over the 6s.

My original plan with my 5S was to wait around 18 months and upgrade to the 7S.

Apple threw a wrench in that plan with the SE, so I'll be going that route as soon as I can.

I'm getting the SE for now - the battery on my iPhone 6 has crapped out, and the $300 difference with mostly the internals of the 6S was pretty attractive. We'll see in September, but the 7 will have to blow me out of the water to make me willing to fork out $1k for it here in Canada.

I get every new release so this year shall be no different. I'll preorder and wait.
I bought every iPhone upon its release since the original. But Apple’s now an old conservative, very predictably cautious, mass market device maker. With almost zero incentive to create a fresh contemporary design, they're busy cashing in on their best work of the past. A money grab so big they'll be able to enjoy success for years, independent of the products that follow.

Why are you even on this forum, then? People like you baffle me. I mean, you're deliberately quoting someone who's happy with their choice just to tell them how much you think Apple sucks. You're entitled to your opinion, but why post it on a site dedicated to Apple? Go over to /r/android.

Your choice to assume is failing you.

Based on the few leaks we have seen I am not terribly excited. It's all but certain that we lose the headphone jack, which I use daily to this day. I'll have to gain something great to make that sacrifice.

What am I assuming? You made your opinion of Apple clear in your earlier comment. You even said that you only use Apple as a backup to Android. So again - why are you here, quoting happy Apple users just to tell them that you think that Apple sucks now? I already know how well it'd go over if I tried to do the same to Android or Windows users.

As I said, you're entitled to your opinion. Why you're spending so much time on the forum of a manufacturer you feel is inferior is something I just don't see the point of.

Unfortunately your reading comprehension is also failing you. At _no_ time have I ever said Apple sucks.

I think it will be something very special

I have to agree with you. When I watched the 6S releases and continually heard "it's really cool", "amazing", "awesome", "for the first time" I found myself getting angry at what was certainly smoke and mirrors from the company that used to deliver on those claims. Now, I've also seen Samsung do it too on items that were supposedly innovative at the time that are now not even included on their phones anymore, so it happens elsewhere too but I totally see what you are saying. I still love my iPhone's, but the magic seems gone. I often think, what if Jobs was still here. What would be different.

I'm holding off,as I ordered an SE. I think the biggest reasons for me to get the SE over the as of yet unreleased 7, is the possible loss of the headphone jack, and an even thinner phone. I found my iPhone 6 plus to be too thin. I'd rather not deal with an even thinner phone.

I may change my mind in 6 months, but I love the classic looks of the 5S/SE and of course the price.

I'm using the iPhone 6 Plus right now and decided to pass on the iPhone 6s Plus.

Like others I'll be interested to see if the iPhone 7 or whatever it's called to see what it brings to my own wants and needs ✔️ boxes.

If that doesn't happen then it's possibly time to look at something else on the market such as the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge.

Just ordered an SE the other day, it'll be replacing my 6. If the SE never came into existence, I would have upgraded to the 7 in September. But now I'll be sticking with the SE no matter what the 7 has, and I'd like to stick with the 4" form factor in the future.
