I had the 5s for all of about a week back in January. If I still had it I would have kept it. I loved the thing but I just couldn't deal with Sprint and their constant 1x.

But the 5s has a lot of time left on the clock. Great design.

I've always used the 2 year contract subsidy so I'm still on the iPhone 5. This year I'm moving to AT&T's NEXT so I get a new phone every year. 0% financing, yes please.

Keeping my 5, serves me well for all i need. Probably will wait for 6S or something. The bigger screen is somewhat irrelevant to me since i have the Air.

Every year only if you trade yours in or pay it off when you want to upgrade.

Sticking with the 5S, although I've always upgraded annually in the past. If I wanted a phablet, I'd go Android. The idea of an iPhone that can't be handled in one small hand just annoys me for some reason.

Of course, i remember using a Palm Treo and having people tell me my phone was too big. Phones were getting smaller and smaller then. I moved to the diminutive Centro and loved it. But now we're circling back towards gigundous. I think I'll just wait this fad out.

It is really not a question about upgrading. I have gotten every new iPhone at launch so do not plan to stop now.

I like getting a new toy every year.

I just sold my 5S, I'll be ready for iPhone 6 anytime it's released. I replace mine whenever Apple releases the new model. Buying the phone outright keeps me contact free and leaves me with great flexibility. Last year I sold my iP5 about six weeks before the new one was released, that timing seemed to net the most money.

I'm keeping mine as Apple just replaced a brand new 5s for me so I've got another year of Apple Care. I'm leaning towards the S model now and I don't need a bigger screen.

Happy with what I've got :)

I have an iPhone 5s, i bought it in March 2014, i really like this device it satisfy my all needs so i want to keep going with my 5s, some people says that apple will delay of releasing iPhone 6, so i just little bit worry about ios 8, coz apple releasing ios 8 with the new iPhone 6.

Well, I don't own the 5S or 5C, but I do own the iPhone 5. Based on the pictures I have seen, if the iPhone 6 looks anything like that and most importantly, if it does not come in black then I will be staying with my iPhone 5.

Same here. Hoping though the S version doesn't bring too many issues .

I hope not! Guess we will find out on Sept. 9th.

Iphone5 verizon on tmobile $30 a month plan. Why spend more? If I stayed verizon two year contract costs $2400. Now it's $720. Why can people not do math?

My sole experience with smartphones has been only with Android. Currently, I own an HTC One. I'm waiting for contract to end next year with Sprint before switching my family over to Verizon. My son previously had a iPhone 4S before upgrading to a 5C last year. My daughter also has a 4S.

By the time I change mobile service, I'm debating which iPhone to get. In terms of cost, the 4S will be the most economical at zero-cost for a two-year contract. The 5C/5S should also go down in price since the iPhone 6 would be established by this point next year. However, I'm thinking the 5S would be the best way to go.

Any advice?

Next year 5c will be $0 with contract.

But think of it this way.

4s = $449 this year
5c = $549 this year
5s = $649

Next, subtract $100 from those prices. The 4s is only available with 8GB, so oyu might not want that, as iOS is 3GB or so.

Tl;dr it's a $100 jump, the cost is subsidized by carrier, but you're still going to pay for it through contract.

People say a lot of things and most of the Apple future device rumours are used for stock market price manipulation, to either raise stock prices or devalue them by spreading FUD (Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt)

Expect to see the newest iPhone in its normal Autumn timeslot.

I'm glad I went with the gold 5S. I love everything about it and probably will want to keep it.

I always find with the S series any problems that are found usually on the newly designed iPhone are always sorted out.

4 Antenna problems.
4S This problem was sorted.
5 Chipped and scratched far to easily.
5S This problem was mostly sorted to a degree.

iPhone 6 could have one or two minor manufacturing problems on launch, that like past iPhone's might not be so easy to fix.

iPhone 6S will have these issues sorted if any come about with the 6.

This could be the one reason i might decide to stick with the 5S until the 6S, gonna sit back wait and see if any problems crop up before buying one.

My current iPhone works fine, and I definitely plan to keep it. My dad passed away last year, and it holds sentimental value to me. However, since it is a Verizon iPhone 5, I don't get to experience true 4G LTE speeds on my AT&T account that I'm using it on, so I'd consider picking up a 5s or 6 for that feature alone. Sent from my iPad.

Definitely keeping. I had the first iPhone (the one sold in US and in some selected European countries only, unfortunately not in mine - had to jailbreak & unlock, not to mention having to meet with some weird guy on a subway station to buy it in a first place). Then I got the iPhone 3G, as soon as it was available here. Worked great, but was made obsolete quite soon with that terrible iOS 4 update that basically killed the performance. Then I got iPhone 4 and got struck by "Antennagate". So I skipped 4S, skipped 5, just to switch to the "S" cycle with iPhone 5S last year. And I'm really, really happy with this one.

So no iPhone 6 for me, I'll wait with my 5S till the next year to get the 6S, or whatever it is going to be called. And, observing the current disturbing trends, I just hope it will be smaller than the iPad mini ;)

Who is keeping the 5S/5C?

I bought the 5s in May (three months ago). I'm going to get the iPhone 6 although not on launch day. I think I'll wait a few weeks/whole month.

People should keep what could be the last, compact iPhones that Apple may ever produce.

Once they go 4.7 and beyond, I don't see Apple turning back. Appreciate that Apple was able to pack so power with only a 4-inch display. Comparable 4-inch Android or WP devices don't even come close. You won't find 720p screens on 4-inch Androids or WP and generally single core. Screens at 4.3 with 720p is like in the Xperia acro S and Z1 Compact.

The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact was one of the closest to pack so much power with 4.3 inches but was quite hefty for a compact phone. Perhaps the Z3 Compact will get bigger "4.5-4.7" display as the term "mini" or "compact" tends to get bigger and heavier every passing year.
