Who is keeping the 5S/5C?

People should keep what could be the last, compact iPhones that Apple may ever produce.

Once they go 4.7 and beyond, I don't see Apple turning back. Appreciate that Apple was able to pack so power with only a 4-inch display.

I agree. That's why I won't be selling my 5s.

I don't think Apple will stop making a 4" iPhone, i think there will be the iPhone, and the bigger ones will come under an iPhone Air branding.

NFC is what I want from iphone6

not sure a grey phone is what I need:(

maybe my existing silver/white iPhone 5 is enough-though considering iPhone 5s as a wee upgrade option 'mid' contract

The 5S will be around in one form or another for the next couple of years at least, so a compact iPhone will still be there should people want it by the time the 6S or 7 is out.

Eventually the 6 & 6S will become the cheaper smaller iPhone while the 7 & 7S move onto 5-5.2" screens.

I normally upgrade every 2 years, however this time around I really planned to keep my 5 for as long as possible, since a) I bought it outright and b) the iPhone 6 really doesn't interest me (assuming the design we have seen is final, and there are no amazing new features we don't yet know about).

With that said, I'm out of storage on my 64GB, and my battery in the last 2 or so months has deteriorated rapidly, to the point where I'm lucky to get 3 hours usage out of it.

So my choices are to either replace the battery in my phone, and stop taking photos and copying music to it, or buy a new phone. I'll decide post-keynote.

You can really got 2 years just waiting for a new model with minor improvements?

4s to 5s to 6s are not minor improvements. 5 to 5s is a minor improvement but those who are on the S cycle see just as much change between models as do the folks on the non-s cycle.

I would keep the 5s if I had it. I really think it's the perfect phone. As it is I'll probably be getting the 6 on my next upgrade.

That's why even though I plan on upgrading to the 6, I'm going to keep my 5s around just in case. I really didn't think I would like a 4" screen when the 5 was originally introduced, but I learned to embrace it. I'm sure that's probably what I will do with the 6.

I sold my Iphone 5 back in May and got an HTC M8... I want the small form factor of the 5/5s again so i'm not really interested in a 4.7 or 5.5 iphone 6.

The only thing that i would consider in a 4.7 iphone 6 is the battery, if and only IF the battery is way too superior to the one in the current iphone i may consider getting the 6...

Right now i cant wait to get an iphone again, maybe i should just get the 5s now and buy the 6 in the first months of 2015 if its too much of an upgrade.

Not feeling the pull at all. For one thing, the iPhone 6 hasn't even been announced yet, so I don't know what the trade actually entails.

I purchased the 5s online at midnight on the release date, so I've had the phone about as long as possible. Even so, I intend to keep it at least through the "6s" release. It's the right size (I would regard a larger screen as a minus). It should run iOS 8 with all the new capabilities intact, except those exclusive to the 6, and with minimal performance penalty.

Last year, I was weighing between the 5s and the 5c. It wasn't until after Apple's announcement, and the real reviews began appearing, that I decided on the 5s. In particular, Anandtech's review of the 5s detailed out just how big a performance increase came with the 5s. And reading about the 64-bit SoC indicated to me that the 5s seemed a bit more futureproof than normal.

I'm in exactly the same boat. I got a M8 because I moved to the US and my euro 5 didn't work the greatest on TMobile.

Really regretting selling my 5. I thought I'd get used to the size of M8, but I never have. It's just way too big, and the more I look back I feel that the size of the 5/5s was perfect.

I'd like to get the 5s but I don't want to buy as the price will drop when the 6 comes out. At the same time though I'm worried the 5S will be changed to use the plastic shell of the 5C; I want the nice aluminum shell.

So I really can't figure out if I should buy now or wait.

I don't like the M8/Android for other reasons besides just size, but that's a whole different write up. Needless to say as good as the M8 is it still had all sorts of weird software hickups I never ran into with iOS. That and the volume rocker on the M8 is horrid.

Completely agree, i actually liked the M8 and did a lot of research before i bought it... i was completely satisfied and didn't regret until about 3 months later when i realized how easy it was to use a one handed phone. Android is cool and all but apps are still a step or two superior on IOS.

Its difficult to wait 2 weeks :D sometimes during the day i feel like just getting the 5s and be happy with it but like you say, the price is gonna drop eventually ... so i guess its better to wait. I also dont want a plasticky 5c, so probably gonna have to get the 5s on amazon or ebay since apple probably isnt gonna sell it anymore after the 6 is out.

I actually just bought an iPhone 5s because I got a very good deal..so I won't be upgrading for another 2 years :)

When the 6 comes out, who's still going to keep their 5S/5C? I have the 5S right now, and as tempting as the 6 is going to be, I'm probably going to keep it. Normally, I give in to what Apple always puts out, but since I paid full price for my 5S I think I'm going to keep it for awhile.

I've kept my iPhone 5s. It works great for me.
