I got the iPhone 12 Blue and now that it arrived today, I got a chance to compare it to my iPhone XR. Unfortunately I didn't see a huge difference in the screen colors going from LED to OLED. I can definitely see a difference in resolution though when comparing phone screens. I tried out the camera and why I can see some upgrades, its just not enough for me to make such a huge payment in upgrading.

I plan to return it and stick with my iPhone XR. Also, I am not as happy with the blue color as much as I thought. The other colors don't look that great to me either on the 12 from what I have seen of unboxing videos.

Don't mean to rain on anyone's parade who enjoys the upgrade. Its definitely a nice phone. Anyone else plan to return the iPhone 12 and stick with their old phones?

You do you. It’s interesting that all the criticisms about the XR/11 LCD sub 1080p displays the last 2 years were largely unwarranted since the average consumer like you weren’t bothered by it and were satisfied. But yeah it’s not a must have, it’s more of a want. I’m getting my 12 pro today and I’ll share my feelings later on

I love my 12, it's one of the best iPhone updates for awhile. Comparing it side by side next to the iPhone 11 it's more impressive how good the iPhone 11 screen actually is considering the paper specs. The 12 is definitely significantly better but the 11 and XR screens are great phone screens. Most people probably don't need to upgrade if they have a XR or newer anyway. I say that as someone coming from a XS Max too lol.

Yeah, I probably should have went with the 12 pro. The black slate 12 Pro looks amazing to me and I may have kept it if I had done that.

I know Covid19 is hitting everyone in one form or another. But, I do wish the likes of Best Buy did a better job of having iPhone models on display (at least in Acworth & Kennesaw, GA).

Merely my opinion, but I feel this would help with making the 'right' choice prior to purchase...

The blue 12 I ordered hasn't arrived yet, but I think I'll probably return it and keep my 11. I was mostly interested in the more compact form factor and better screen, however the cheap case I ordered from Amazon (to tide me over until the Apple leather cases are available) has arrived and I don't think the size difference is going to be as noticeable as I thought it would be. Also concerned that battery life may be worse so I'm starting to think it may be worth waiting another year for more efficient 5G modems and honestly my 11 is totally fine.

In the middle of several books.
Its your money and your choice but I think you should give it some time. It hasnt even been a full day yet and you already want to return it. At least give it a few days and if you still feel the same way by all means send it back.
Absolutely. People need to not knee jerk on delivery day. Use Apple’s 14 days to see if it changes your mind at all. The worst thing you can do OP, is be too quick to return and then a month or so later, you want to try it again, because you were too quick on release day.

It's not good, it can't show the color named Black. It's antiquated. It's peanuts accounting.

the Xr is still a really good phone, and unless you’re looking for some specific features (night mode, ultra wide, 5G, OLED), there isn’t going to be a huge difference in day to day use. That said, I do agree with the comments that you should probably give it more than a few hours.

Valid point for sure.

I can say this, I have upgraded every year since the 6s. I have to say that my iPhone Pro 256 gb Graphite iphone is without a doubt the best iphone they have ever made. The screen is absolutely unbelievable. No warm screen here, the camera takes unbelievable pictures and the phone is so smooth due to the fastest processor ever in a phone. The speakers are loud and clear. I had the XR , which i exchanged 7 times for a warm screen, and the one I ended up with still was not that great. There is no comparison to the iPhone 12 PRO.
