just ordered a refurb base M4 off apple for $1269. they used to be around $1350. my 2011 badly needs replacing, and with the M6 promising great things, i think this is a great option to tide me over and transition into the M-series with one year warranty, apple care possibility, current security, and other benefits. i had it shipped to a tax free store in NH, so saved that as well.

I won't be upgrading any time soon. My 14" M1 MB Pro still feels blazing fast to me. I have BetterDisplay installed so I can get the full brightness and it's still extremely bright.

Base M4 MBP is a great laptop. I got one in April and am extremely pleased. The screen, battery life, ports and 512 GB storage is well worth the premium over the base M4 Air.

Very fast and capable. Hope you like it.

Due in early next week. I’ll bring my 2011 and have them migrate everything over. I’ll have to shop around for some contemporary cables, maybe a disc burner, case , etc.

I hope (for you) that 2026 will be better… It might not !
Almost certainly will be better, considering tandem OLED, 2nm, thinner design. Plus touch screen for those who want that on a laptop for some reason (not me). But you never know, of course, maybe Apple will fumble it, at least the first iteration.

i guess im the only one. purchased the m5 a couple of days ago and trading in my m3pro. total cost was $850. my m3pro is great but its out of warranty now and i like having new stuff.

Decided to go for it - coming from a 15” M3 MBA. Looking forward to the brighter better screen and longer battery life.
