Just wanna know who will upgrade (me I won't)
I think Apple just want us, the buyers to have the fresh new and shiniest device to buy every year. They don’t expect the fresh new device is significant upgrade from last year or even years before. They just want us to have the newest and most advanced they could manufactured if we want to buy this year.
My devices are all still functioning well, hence I won’t upgrade until they’re no longer functional.

I would (switching from a M1Pro 16“MBP) but I’m waiting for the Easrly 2026 releases. The Performance is insane enough for me and the latest M4Pro vs M5 Test (youtube) showed that the advantage in Battery Lfe seems big.

What will the deciding factor for me is: What will the M5 13“Air be like and what will the be the entry level 14“M5Pro be.

And of course the hopefully soon to be released new 27“ Studio Display. Thats actually what Im waiting most for.

I am..M5/24GB/1TB. Will replace both my MacBook Air and MBP 16" M1 Max..Keeping my Mac Studio with M2 Ultra and M5.

I wait for a mayor upgrade, until this happens I will use my 16" M4 max. I am curious to see how the MBP M5 pro and Max or the M5 Ultra Studio performs, if there will be a M5 Ultra.

Makes a lot more sense to wait for the M5 Pro and Max to see the pricing against the base M5 in the 14" MacBook Pro form factor. Also, by then, the M5 in the MacBook Air format should be available too. Then make the best decision.

M5 Macbook air should not exist..it will get too hot.
But maybe will be like ipad pro , a bit limited compared to the m5 Mbp

I was thinking, maybe its time to upgrade my very nicely performing 15" 2018 Intel MacBook Pro with the TouchBar to a newer Silicon MacBook Pro, but... after watching some videos about the upcoming operating system and ecosystem, I decided to go for the Huawei MatePad 12x Papermatte instead. It comes with a magnetic keyboard and a Huawei pencil, both featuring a new connection method Nearlink developed by Huawei. Also, I don't need to buy a special paper-like cover too. Interestingly, I also opted for the Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro over the Apple Watch Ultra 3, saving a significant amount of money. Currently, Huawei is offering the tablet along with all its accessories for just $514. It runs HarmonyOS based on AOSP, but it will soon upgrade to HarmonyOS Next, a brand-new OS with a new kernel. Impressively, Huawei has already sold over a billion devices with this new OS.

This American explains better, why I should buy that Tab, and get into the new eco-system.

I ended up paying $491 and got free earbuds, along with the M Pencil Pro instead of the M Pencil 3. Plus, the magnetic keyboard was included for free as well. Now, all that's left is to wait for the new kernel and the new OS, sometime next year for that tab. Let's see if it can outperform Windows, iPadOS (or macOS), and Android. Not such a huge amount of money for the experiment. :)

At present I have no need to upgrade to an M5/M5 Pro laptop although as much as I would like having the current tech, my M1 Max laptop has been doing everything I have needed a desktop laptop to do. Def no complaints as Apple has made incredible performing laptops using their silicone processors.
