I am going with the 4,7". It will have the almost the same size as the HTC One M8, and that is a very tall phone. I don't want to go even bigger. The 5,5" model seems to have big bezels, and that will make it even taller and bigger.

The HTC One M7 has the exact same screen size (4.7").

I was gonna do the 5.5, but I held some 5+ " phones the other day at Sam's club while I was getting a sim card and realized, its just too big for me.
I dont have girl hands either.

Im gonna keep it simple. I had 4.5" phones before and enjoyed them before the Iphone days, so I would welcome similar size back

I will order online as soon as I can (possibly order both 4.7 and 5.5 at the same time) and check it out the display models, then cancel which ever I don't care for.

HOWEVER, if the feature set is different between the 5.5 (ie it's a more premium phone) then without a doubt I'll be ordering the 5.5 only.

Nah, not me. My 2 year contract is up end of October, so I'll choose from whatever new iPhone is available at the time.

Not really pumped for the new iPhone anyway, if I'm honest so I couldn't care less. The iWatch on the other hand...

Which hand is the iWatch on?

I tried an LG G3 and it isn't too big for me. It really depends on the person. I can see a lot of people liking 4.7 over the 5.5. It comes down to availability and pricing for me. If I can't get the 5.5 for months, I wouldn't mind the 4.7.

I may. I don't know. If the 5.5 price is significantly more than the 4.7 AND has a delay of more than a few months, I'll probably go with the 4.7. Before, I was pretty convinced that I had to have a 5.5" phone, but since I got an iPad mini, I feel like that's a good enough compromise between the phone size and iPad size, and 4.7 will most likely be OK for me.

So glad you are not one of these that will actually test out both models at home, and then return one. That is just wrong.

I will buy the 4.7 inch unless the 5.5 offers something more. Even if it's only better battery life, I'll jump to the 5.5 inch for it. I'm sick of the putrid battery life on my iphone 5 and want the longest possible battery I can get.

You are seriously not hoping that Apple will make a small iPhone " right? There is no way this is happening..

Absolutely I want a smaller iPhone. Currently I have a iPhone 4S and a Samsung galaxy S3 (work phone). The galaxy is too big. I much prefer the size of my 4S, and I know several people who agree that the 4S size is much better than the current iPhone size....and Apple is reportedly going bigger!?!?

I don't want to disappoint you but yes, Apple is going 4,7" and there is also a probability that they will have a second iPhone, at 5,5"..
Gone are the times where small phones were "in"..It seems that currently, the bigger the better...

I understand the merits of a bigger screen, so I think that there must be a sweet spot for the perfect (or the size with the least compromises) size. I believe that to be around 4,7"..Not because Apple is bringing one iPhone now, but because with my experience with the HTC One M8 that is 5". A slightly smaller phone would fit my pocket much better and would still have a nice screen. I also think that I could use a 4,7" phone one handed..

You're not disappointing me or surprising me. I am expecting a 4.7 and a 5.5 inch iPhone to be released.

It's why I will probably stick with my 4S, until a man purse is more acceptable in the USA.

Yes! Waiting to see the new iPhones in person is the BEST thing you can do. Seriously, do NOT pre-order or buy online. You need to see the phone in-person or you're wasting money. Apple will try to trick you into pre-ordering. Don't fall prey to their schemes!

Sincerely,

Someone hoping to get a pre-order delivered on day 1

I'd like to see the sizes in person. I'm a pretty small guy, so the largest I'd get is probably 4.7", though I might just stick with the 4" screen... I hope they make a 6 4" and don't leave that to the 5C...

Waiting? Then you can wait until the end of the year because they'll be sold out.

This is a very hard decision for me. I really want to preorder if it's available but I just can't decide between the 4.7" and 5.5". I think I would like the larger screen size, but then I also think I may get tired of the large size. But if it's the only one with optical image stabilization and other such features, then I am definitely going 5.5".

I haven't been a situation while taking a photo where I wish I had ois. I think the only features that could drive me to the 5.5 is if it's the only phone with a 128gb option and longer reported battery life than the 4.7. It can have a larger battery fwiw, but it's also powering a larger screen.

Also curious how the one handed mode works. The galaxy s5 one is decent, but I hope there's a better way(home button hold or click) that would send the phone into one handed mode. Swiping on one side of the screen is a little annoying, especially with my grip and a larger phone.

I have two lines on ATT Next. I am going to order each size with the bigger one on my main line. That way I actually get real world use out of both of them and I will return the one that I do not want to use.

If this wasn't the case, I would just have to check out other phones with similar screen sizes and try to base a decision on that.

Overall, I think I am going to opt for the bigger size since i got spoiled using a Samsung S4 for a couple of months on one of my lines.

If you want to have all bases covered...

Just get the biggest 5.5 you can afford.

Then if you decide the 4.7 is more of a sweet spot and don't care for the larger screen as much as you feel you should then just get the 4.7.

You can't experience the 5.5 relative to the 4.7 but you CAN make a choice if you have the 5.5 in your hands and decide against it.

If you start with the 4.7 you can't know what owning the bigger 5.5 is like.

I'm buying one of each size and returning the one that I don't like. That much change in size warrants a dual purchase for me.

I feel this is always being mentioned before an iPhone release, but is never really the case, that the supply is sort of rough for three, maybe four weeks, then fine.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I feel it's always overblown? Is that just me?

I tested out a 4.7 inch case and I *think* that I've decided that I don't want a phone that is bigger than that. I think.
