I should say so. Currently appearing in Logan.
Makes him more of a celebrity than some wannabe dancing with Bruce Forsite.
Or someone eating grubs in the jungle.

Hm. I see.

Well, notwithstanding that, I still really like Patrick Stewart - actually, to my mind, he made STNG.

And, I will admit that I am also rather partial to Michael Kitchen - who is - most definitely - not a "celebrity".

Female: Um, well. She's not alive anymore. Marilyn Monroe.

Male: A tie between Ian Somerhalder and Tom Hiddleston.

Though Jason Momoa is one beautiful hunk of a man.

Why did I respond...

I'm a bit embarrassed to admit it but I think this woman is just about as beautiful as can be.
I never watch tv anymore so don't know any of the new celebrities out there.

I also agree that Patrick Stewart is an awesome actor.

What (the expletive deleted) is a celebrity?

Christ on a bike......what a vacuous topic......
I have to agree.

In most cases, celebrities are playing a fictional part and are being judged based on their looks.

I view this as a shallow, but harmless topic. :)

Celebrity crushes are real, while I can't say I've had a true crush, this might qualify, I've found certain female actresses highly appealing based on their appearance, and the personality that seeps into the role they play, although they might not be anything like this in reality. I've also found certain male actors highly charismatic based on their appearance and the roles they play. It's not a crime to discuss it. ;)

Eh...my Deadly Duo from Shaw Brothers: Ti Lung and David (John) Chiang.

And I haven't been able to give up Kurt Russell (30+ years.)

Kurt Russell, one roll- MacReady. :) Since they were mentioned, Mila Kunis, Tom Hardy and John Wayne have real screen presences.

MacReady started my beard jones something fierce in the early 90s, I love Snake but MacReady... (is that a flame thrower in your pocket or are you just happy to see me Mac?)

For me, it's not so much the actor, but the characters that truly grab me. Though David Chiang is a lovely man from all accounts, even to this day.

Alright, I'll bite, but just a little. "Celebrities" never did it for me, but some of those - slightly compelling characters - did on occasion.

Lee van Cleef.........Patrick McGoohan.....Ian McShane.....Paul Schofield....

I sense a secret crush! ;) :p Seriously, there are actors who have so much charisma, maybe even sex appeal, that it leaks out all over the character they are playing. Then there are actors who play their acting selves, the same person in every role, which is their consistent projection of their altered self. Although I love John Wayne, I view him in this light more or less. Favorite movies of mine are The Searchers, The Longest Day, Sons of Katie Elder, The War Wagon, and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, among others.

Some male actors who have made impressions on me with a high charisma quotia (no...not... crushes ;)) are Robert Mitchem, Robert Dinero, Robert Redford, Paul Newman, Al Pacino, Russel Crowe, Kirk Douglas, Jack Nicolson, Gregory Peck, Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Hugh Jackman, Cary Grant, Densel Washington and lots more. I probably would not be able to fit them all in. ;)

Ah, but which one of the ones I mentioned?

Lee van Cleef in "For A Few Dollars More" and "Sabata":......Now: I will freely admit, - these two characters - well, maybe they did not quite bowl me over - but they did leave me thinking about, brooding over, this character, for, oh, maybe a few decades. (In quiet, introspective, contemplative moments).

Suffice to say that if either of those characters had ever suggested I join them on an adventure, I'd have had a hard time saying "no, I'm busy elsewhere."

Oh, I forgot: Leonard Nimoy as Mr Spock.

No Harrison Ford?

Paul Schofield? Is that Phils brother?

No, Harrison Ford never did it for me; not a fan of Star Wars (but I did like Witness).

No, Paul Schofield was a (stunning, magnetic, brilliant) stage actor, who occasionally appears on screen - he played Thomas More in the movie A Man For All Seasons - and I was fortunate enough to see him perform live - on stage - in London in the late 80s.

And Patrick McGoohan (The Prisoner): Wow. What an intelligent and compelling series.

Actually, my brother emailed me when he died to offer his condolences. In truth, I was surprised that he remembered that I had really liked him.
