The headline on buzz feeds Facebook page summed it up... "All apples customers are created equal. Some are just more equal than others." http://www.buzzfeed.com/matthewzeitlin/10-celebrities-and-rich-people-who-got-their-apple-watch-bef?bffb&utm_term=4ldqpgp#4ldqpgp

Well said. I for one cannot believe that Apple hasn't even made it through the first four minutes of this particular watch combination in the US yet. Let me repeat that again.....not even through the first four minutes of pre-orders yet.

I didn't get my order in for almost two hours after pre-orders went live. If we're still trying to get through the first four minutes I'm afraid Apple isn't going to get to my order until the very end of my 4-6 week window....if I'm lucky. Right now I wouldn't be surprised that my order slips well into June. I don't know what Apple is doing but I was certainly hoping to hear that they could make it through the first four minutes of orders a little bit quicker than this. Frustrating.

By our 4-6 week window production should have increased to the point where orders are being fulfilled much faster. Of course this is speculation. In fact, id say it speeds up this week. What we saw last week was Apple's initial supply being disbursed (which was very little).

Have 42mm Milanese watches been moving? Thinking about ordering one and getting black sports band later?

One would certainly hope this is the case, but keep in mind that Apple started production in late February to early March. They went through that whole stockpile in the first weekend and haven't even gotten through the first day's worth of pre-orders by a long shot. And in our case....not even the first four minutes of pre-orders. I'd like to keep positive about the whole thing but these simple facts are not encouraging. But really, I hope you're right.

I would have preferred standing in a physical line, having employees walk down the line, asking what case and band combo we wanted. Cases packaged separately and bands separate to be sold together for customer assembly. That way you could choose. When they ran out of the size or color well you could still walk away with something. Corporate hubris. Time for another celebrity beer bash...

Ahhh, but Burberry didn't want you to have "that " retail experience. Instead she believes you should have a personal Watch fitting like her old stores. Then you could stay up until the wee hours of the morning to make your 10-15 minute purchase online so you could get your new Watch at home accompanied by the harried UPS signature instead of the clapping hands of the terrific Apple Retail Employees. This is the 21st Century and you shouldn't have to leave the convenience of your home for a delivery, even if it takes 12+ hours to arrive, and only if you ordered in the first 2 minutes. Post 2 minutes and you are out luck for launch day.

I get Burberry's dilemma but I'm a little tired of her rosy spin. Should have just hit send it to the home at :02. Bad on me. Lesson learned. Probably no more lines sadly.

That's a fair point. Really none of us know, but I do trust Apple's estimated ship dates and based on some cases they are beating those estimates. We will see. I'm expecting mine May13-27th hah!

I realize that UPS and FedEx are 24/7 operations. But does anyone know for sure that the Apple distribution center in Louisville is? Because we all seem to be assuming that they are - or at least at this time because of the number of orders and demand. But if they are not, then all those lovely pallets of our watches won't be opened and examined until sometime Monday AM.

Ups world port is in Louisville most packages are sorted there or in Ontario California. Memphis TN is A major Fedex hub. The way I've observed is packages go to a Shipped state when the manifest is scanned in Anchorage AK, which is already halfway to its destination.

That makes sense. What happens when they arrive Louisville? Are the pallets already pre-sorted for the next destination?

I don't know about this whole distribution center thing unless that's apple code speak for UPS. Last week nearly every day a plane would land in AK and 30 minutes later orders would update, I think if they are sitting it's a UPS logistics Warehouse.

Is there any planes coming in tonight?

Looks like there are quite a few from Anchorage to Louisville today, but sadly zero from China to Anchorage today. Doesn't look like Apple is shipping any watches out today. Yesterday was the same. Just a couple of flights from South Korea to Anchorage and several from Anchorage to Louisville. Looks like our best bet for Apple to actually move any watches from the factories in China is only during the week.

I would think maybe broadly, at some point they have to be broken down and sorted. UPS is probably the world leader in logistics so I'm sure it's as efficient as possible.

When I worked at UPS after the China flight departed Saturday morning it didn't return until Monday afternoon. That was a long time ago and one thing I'll say about UPS is if you give them enough money they will do just about anything.

I haven't seen a watch that was produced earlier than the last week of March...

I remember a thread here at the beginning of March that was reporting that allegedly over 70% of watches made so far couldn't pass QC inspections. That's where I'm getting my late February to early March time frame when they started making watches. I also thought I had read on the news sub-forum here prior to then that Apple had begun production.

Mine and a buddy's were both made week 16 (after the pre-order started from what I gather) and we both ordered 42SSBSB; he at 3 mins in and me at 6 mins in

Looks like most were made to order

Ordered my 42mm SS BSB 4/10 with confirmation at 00:03:28. CC was charged last night, and I received a shipping notice today around 10:30. Coming Monday 4/27 via UPS. I'm having them hold it at the local distribution center, since they invariably deliver in the one hour window when no one's home to receive it. I plan to pick it up first thing when they open in the morning.

I've felt everyone's anticipation and disappointment in not receiving it on launch day. I've purchased iPhones sand iPads on their launches, and this has been the most frustrating roll out I've experienced (including my first iPhone purchase where an employee error simultaneously locked my purchase both with my carrier and with Apple's return system, and took half a day and visits between my carrier's retail location and Apple's to resolve).

I'm hoping Apple resolves not to repeat this particular process. Hope you all receive your watches soon.

Wow. I'm 4/10 3:27AM on the East Coast of the USA. Maybe there's hope sooner than I thought! I assume you are USA East Coast as well...
