I ordered mine at 2:06am central and got an email at 2:06.

I'm still patiently waiting. I am hopeful though we will see some movement tomorrow.

Maybe we will have ours by Friday's end!!

Has anyone else been reading about the SS models scratching like crazy?

I really don't want my watch to end up looking like the old iPod classics ha.

I haven't heard much on the SS but I've read a few people post about dings/dents on the sport model. I think as long as you don't bash it on any doorways etc it should be okay for the most part. Metal bands are more likely to be scratched since they come into contact with more ridged surfaces like computers/desktops IMO

I know sure when I what time I placed my order I was 3:07am and I got the email confirmation at 3:07am EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) EOD on Wednesday 4/22. 42mm ss BSB and still processing and no charge. When I chatted with Apple couple days ago he said apple was doing rush delivery on all of the orders.
delivery window 4/24 to 5/8
I hope I get my watch before friday.

Everything I get from apple is delivered by Fedex

I think the bigger problem they created for themselves, was not having the in-store tryons start 2 weeks BEFORE pre-orders. Have people come in, decide what they want, then pre-order accordingly.

I think what they created was a mess of people not knowing which one they would want, so ordered multiples, and will end up returning one. I almost ordered the Space Sport too, because I was unsure. I would have returned the one I didn't want. With hindsight, I should have. But on the 10th (after i pre-ordered), I went to try them on, and was happy with my choice (42 SS BSB).

Seriously, how did they think people were supposed to choose sight unseen, especially the diehards that wanted to be among the first to place their orders?

All around, they screwed this one.

Agreed!

Though I have a sneaking suspicion that Apple prefers it this way because then the order number totals are larger (1.5 times larger? 2 times larger?) and then their total sold announcement is inflated. I seriously doubt the will have all the returns back by the time the announce how many they sold.

Here's to staying positive about our orders. I'm sure we'll see some serious activity in the first half of the week. I'm hoping that includes our orders. Good luck.

Returns back? The earnings call is tomorrow... most of those sales haven't even shipped yet so ya you guys are both correct IMO... I also think the reason our model specifically seems to be backlogged is bc the black sport watch with bsb and the ss bsb are the most popular choices in their tiers... band shortage IMO

Apple has always been good at inflating demand and making their reports look pretty. It's just part of their way of business. Admirable, though terribly annoying for the customer at times.

If you've ever owned a SS watch of decent quality, a diver watch or whatever... They don't stay pristine and highly polished forever, but the good thing is that sapphire crystal does. Millions of people have taken stainless watches through all sorts of abuse, keep in ind this is something you wear not carry, so it's going touch everything you touch, you'll bang it on countertops, door frames, stone walls, metal stair rails, etc. it'll show wear for sure, but the crystals on all those watches remain flawless. At least mine and any I have seen do.

It's a different mindset from the phone that everyone wraps in carriers and bumpers and protectors. It's more like a platinum wedding ring, looks all shiny in day one, on year 15 it's still platinum but unless you are fastidious about polishing it shows that it's something you've worn on your finger, not kept it your pocket.

For those not accustomed to watches, this will take time to get used to I think.

I was reading about the scratches earlier. It concerned me a little, but others have said that even rolex watches have this problem. (What the guy above me said, lol)

I agree. I've heard that half of the watches ordered have bsb. That's a lot of black bands.

going to check my order status one more time tonight then I'm going to bed and hoping I see a email tomorrow. nothing

Yup agree totally... I've owned quite a few stainless steel watches over the years and they all get beat up after a while... I think of it as leather, its gets character with age. Of course the polish is gonna wear off... if you really want to next year when its all beat up you can polish it back to new if you want.

Like he said the glass is the important part. Those scratches don't come out and are more annoying to see.

There is a way to remove surface srcathes from stainless steel, watch this video http://9to5mac.com/2015/04/26/apple-watch-fix-scratches/

I'm sorry but that's the most absurd thing I've seen posted in here.

I was told the same thing. I couldn't believe that I waited on hold to hear that. That was soooo helpful (not). :)

I don't know what everyone who is contacting Apple CS is expecting. No one is going to magically get a rep that says "we're gonna charge you tomorrow and it'll be to you by Wednesday!"

In all seriousness, here's to some of us waking up hundreds of dollars poorer tomorrow!

Keep in mind that even though UPS & Fedex may not be moving at the moment, Apples factories are churning out product 24/7 365 days a year. So the last week we daily updates coming in. Now they have had a weekend to mass produce for waves this week. You know with Tim Cooks background being logistics/operations that they are paying for priority space on those flights.

I'm betting we will all see major major movement this week.
