Great colors (I would actually argue the colors are even better on matte), no glare near windows - matte all the way!

oh you're being like that.

forgive me if I missed it but I cant see anywhere you've explained why manufacturers choose the matt finish? Bear in mind quite a lot of pros on v.high end screens use hoods so glare isn't really a problem

EDIT: Also, i'm assuming you dont work in graphics from your responses, but good studios use diffused lighting at the correct temperature (even neutral paints in good edit suites) so glare def isn't an issue

My sister has the glossy MBP and I use it regularly and I absolutely love it. Plus, I'm not in such conditions where it's really sunny or theres lots of light, so it's reflective-ness isn't a problem for me. :)

you really do have a bad attitude, I hope you're not like this to people in real life

stop avoiding the question and answer it if you have a valid answer

Glossy hands down. A primary concern was screen quality. Went with the MBP 13. Very pleased. This is a great little machine and I'm impressed with the screen.

I returned a HR AG refurb. The defused light looks like static and really wasn't an improvement from my PowerBook. Based on my experience I would recommend glossy. So far I don't notice any glare or reflection while inside.

Perhaps the anti glare would be better for other applications, it just didn't work for me.

I don't think you can compare a lap top with an external monitor because the ext monitor will be at a further distance. Kind of like watching a TV, what is fine and dandy across the room kind of sucks if was a few feet in front of your face.

Vudoo, have you tried matching the brightness level on all three? I am just curious what your results are.

In the photo, all three machines were set to the highest brightness. My wife and I agree that the anti-glare looks better than the glossy...everything was more natural. It's like LED LCD TVs, the contrast is set so high that things look three dimensional but not real at all.
