I still have my 5s as a backup phone. It still runs great. The only reasons I upgraded to an SE were mainly just for Apple Pay and increased storage. Otherwise I would still be happily using my 5s. In fact, if my 4s (my first iPhone) didn't get bricked during an update, I probably would have used that until the SE. I really miss th 3.5" form factor. I'm a die-hard one-handed phone user in case that isn't obvious.
iPhones last for ages especially if you're ok with running older software.

Currently using a 5s — bought shortly after it launched. Could do with more storage now, the battery isn’t great, and notice it running slow at times. Got an X but sent it back as Face ID doesn’t work well for me. Contemplating an 8 now.

I was using an iphone 5s until just a few months ago, now I have an SE. Love this design.
The SE is amazing and I kind of miss it, but I just couldn't deal with the small screen anymore. My father has one and it's still lightning fast on iOS 11.

Still using my 5 ...phones are the thing I use least, so I hope it lasts for a while yet. It is a great phone, a few stutters on IOS 10, but quite usable. I only use it for more than phone calls on the rare occasion I don’t have an iPad with me.

I have a 5S and just got the X...it runs like new on ios9 and I just put in a new battery.

It's my backup phone....I'll be carrying it when I go to places where people might kill you for the X.

I originally had a 5s for a few months before upgrading to the 6.

Was disappointed in the 1gb ram and had to eventually sell it but promised myself I would return for the 10th iphone (Iphone 7). In the mean time I bought a 5s to wait and eventually bought a 7, but decided to return it and get the 10th anniversary model instead as the rumours kept pointing to this being the big update.

Who else is still holding on to an older model?

Still won Original Launch IPhone with Factory Packaging and the follow up version the 3G also own a 5s and a 6s Plus. After the 6s Plus I switched to Samsung Galaxy Note 5 And now a Galaxy S8 Plus.
Gotta have that 3.5mm Audio jack. The Day Higher Quality Audio is sent via Bluetooth I’ll switch

Still have a 5s and I intend to keep it until next year's refresh. I am kind of hoping that there will be an iPhone in the physical dimensions of the 5s but all-screen.

Unfortunately, after KGI's predictions about next year's phones it seems unlikely but I still hope. I really love the dimensions of this phone since I was never a huge fan of the iPhone 6/7/8 design. The iPhone X looks OK but is still big in my opinion.

Nevertheless, if Apple decides that there is no market for the "small smartphone" then I'll either buy the refreshed iPhone X or an SE and be happy with it :)

Next years refresh will be a iPhone X with cheaper internals, more processing power and a reduced price.

My mother in law has my old 5s. Does what she needs it to do.

[doublepost=1542545541][/doublepost]I stil stick to 5s and I love it. There is no prblem with ios12.1 for me. For camera, that is fine, not to mention carrying around in nice grip of my palm.

Still have my 5s as a backup and I miss the camera on that phone. Don’t know if it’s the software or camera itself, but I find the 5S photos taken indoors weren’t as washed it or grainy as I get on the 8 plus I’ve had for a year.

Still have a 3GS I have plugged in a dock for music and alarm clock in our camper.

I still have a 5s at my disposal. To my surprise I used it last week for kicks and giggles, and it worked really well on 12.1 much better than what I expected.

I use a 5S as a work phone and parts of it are awful. The screen is weak, the OS is slow and battery takes ages to charge, but drains so quickly.

How can a phone with such a small battery take so long to charge? My Note 9 has a battery 3x the size and finishes charging in less than half the time.

I'm using a 5c as my backup phone. Performs well, but battery life is a bit low. Nothing absolutely appalling, but low. It is on iOS 9.

Time to buy a new iPhone
