Seriously, what do you guys need an iPod for?
Why would I need a second device in my car with carrying a phone anyway? And I can continue listening where I left off with earphones.
Seriously, don't confuse "you" and "I". I have plenty of use for my iPods. If you have no use for them, great. Just don't assume that your preferences are universal. A single device may be a priority for you. Not having to constantly connect and disconnect my phone when I have available iPods for dedicated us is my priority. Do what what works for you. Others will do what works for them.

In other words, despite my preference, I'm not going to tell you why you would or wouldn't do anything. That's your call to make.

Wow, I'm surprised at the poll results. I would assume that more people would not have an iPod once they got an iPhone.
Well, you know what they say about assuming...

Why waste perfectly good and useful tech? People are all too quick to label something still fully functional and useful as "obsolete" just because it isn't the latest release.

I use both

My phone is an iPhone 4S 64 GB. My "iPod" is my old iPhone 3GS 32 GB. My "iPod" is only used to play music in the car, because I have an iPod connector in my glove box. If I had a Bluetooth car stereo, then I wouldn't need both.

Just thought of another reason to keep my iPod Touch--the expensive-ass Apple dock & remotes for video-out. I don't use it every day for that, but I'm happy to have the capability, especially hearing that there's going to be a wait for a cable that can handle that for the iPhone 5.
