I think so.
I think the iPhone 4 was mostly about the hardware and this year will be mostly about the software.
I honestly think this will be the biggest software upgrade since the addition of 3rd-party apps with the iPhone 3G.
I'm talking iPhones here, but of course it'll all apply to the iPad as well.
there are a few ios 5 threads - so u can kiss this goodbye
I really pray that it is. I understand what I want is never going to be what I get but this upgrade I'm sure will be amazing.
Notifications and cloud services is enough in itself to make it amazing.
I'd like it to be huge, and they'll probably introduce some cool things under the hood. I think though, they won't fundamentally change the way the interface works and even looks since they've now got millions of iPad customers to support.
I also would LOVE arrow keys.
I would like to be able to delete podcasts/videos directly on the iPad. When traveling it is redundant to carry a laptop just to sync to delete these. And if not deleted they can eat up storage space.
Same for photos - need ability to delete from iPad.
I guess the big thing is having to do so much "maintenance" via iTunes. It really takes away from the portability. I can understand why they started out this way but in order for the iPad to "grow up" it must become more of a stand-alone device.
And one more thing-a user documents folder so we can open a document etc. with whichever app we choose. Version control is a bit of a nightmare when you have the same doc residing in more than one folder because you needed to use it in different apps.
Yes, you are wrong. Movies are not displayed in a list but in a picture browser type thing (grid array). You delete a video the way you do an app, by holding it until the close widget appears in the corner.I may be wrong, but I believe you CAN delete videos on the fly. Just swipe to the right and the delete button appears.

I believe the idea is that videos tend to be large and you may be likely to want to watch them again soon (maybe not before you have access to your computer again), so it makes sense to provide you with that option. Songs, OTOH, tend to be things you are likely to want to keep on it, as you will probably listen to them repeatedly, so the delete option is not available (I have no podcasts or audiobooks, those might be delete-able).
Huge by that it takes up a lot of space on the device's memory?
