Yeah even in general indoor useSo, anyone that updated to UW1 to UW2 noticed the difference in brightness? Happy that you did the upgrade. Think I will upgrade too, since the UW1 trade in value at Apple is decent. Thanks!
Yeah, I also feel like it’s brighter indoors even though it’s not necessarily supposed to be. Especially if you’re sitting by a window in the daytime or just a bright light.Yeah even in general indoor use
Does everyone run the beta on the watch? Thinking about so can get the double tap quicker.
Maybe Tuesday! I can’t wait for hands free mode.Does everyone run the beta on the watch? Thinking about so can get the double tap quicker.
The idea that not using Siri means you're basically not using your watch is unhinged.Ok, so you basically DON’T actively use your Apple Watch while you workout? NO WONDER YOU DON’T SEE ANY DIFFERENCE
That’s like buying a Corvette Stingray and never taking it to the track and saying “It doesn’t seem any faster to me”.
You miss the point. Saying “there’s no difference” when you ignore advanced features is unhinged. The idea that not using Siri means you're basically not using your watch is unhinged.
If they choose not to use Siri and don't notice any difference in responsiveness in the things they do, it's a completely fair response. There's no rule saying you have to use at least X% of the features of your device before you're allowed to comment on how it feels to you.You miss the point. There are also completely practical reasons to not use Siri. For example, I have a stutter and Siri today is worse at following my speech than Google Assistant was back in 2016. And even when it does understand me, I sometimes get responses like "Sorry, you don't have the Timer app installed" when trying to set a simple timer.
Why would I bother to keep running up against this wall when I could just do the thing myself and be done in a fraction of the time? Advanced features are not always good features.
The new watches only just came out, everyone has limited experience. And there’s no rule that car magazines have to take a new Corvette or BMW M3 to the track. Yeah, they can use it to take kids to daycare or buy groceries. BUT THEN THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS COMMENTING ON THE PERFORMANCE.
No, you don’t have to use any of the advanced features of the new Apple Watch. But then you have limited experience to comment.

Oh get real. Lots of people can multi-task. Saying that you shouldn’t sounds like a weak cop out argumen
You should make a YouTube video. Call it SiriThis YouTuber says I WAS FOOLED because everyone said the S9 chip was no big deal. Then he found out that it is significantly faster in certain situations, especially Siri.
He still didn’t do a very good comparison. It was a rudimentary comparison. I should make a YouTube video myself.
Besides the S9 SiP, the neural processor is also much much faster which may play a part. Some functions are now bypassing the SiP and getting triggered by the neural processor.
Okay? I didn't tell you to go listen to a mixed bag of random Youtubers. Find sources you trust and listen to what they say. Or don't, I don't really care. My point was simply that saying that someone isn't really using their watch just because they don't use Siri is a bad take. This YouTuber says I WAS FOOLED because everyone said the S9 chip was no big deal. Ok, so tell me what how you use your watch. I’ve already listed what I do. Lets see if you’re another person who basically does nothing with their watch and doesn’t notice any speed improvements.
But if you have both the Series 8 and 9 do this one test. Open maps in each when away from your iPhone and click your current location. The Series 9 will find it about 90% faster.
It’s only been a day since the new watches were launched. There will be a lot more observations coming.
That cat just wants to bully people into arguments and justification for the purchase. Pay no mind to him. That being said. I did not upgrade from the 1 to 2.Okay? For the record, I'm not even saying the new chips aren't a big improvement. I think they clearly are, even if we don't have things to take advantage of all that power just yet. But whether someone uses Siri or not shouldn't be the measure of whether their opinion is valid or relevant.
Who would use an $800 watch to work out? I buy Apple products because they are Apple products been doing so since powerbook g4. I use my watch to tell time and my phone to make calls!Ok, so you basically DON’T actively use your Apple Watch while you workout? NO WONDER YOU DON’T SEE ANY DIFFERENCE

My thought is, if you can financially afford it, why not? I agree that even an incremental update will be worth it as I think the battery life will be better and I’m really looking forward to the pinch operation.I upgrade every year. Love the new SiP on the AWU2 and the brighter up to 3,000 nits display is gorgeous. It’s a bit of an incremental update, but for me it’s definitely noticeable and totally worth it.
Nice job! I sold my AWU1 for $768 and bought the successor for $951 (tax included). Pretty nice deal eh? ✌️My thought is, if you can financially afford it, why not? I just sold my AWU 1 for $460 on Craigslist this morning…quick sale. I purchased the AWU2 on Amazon last week for $779 and had a $40 visa credit on Amazon points. The new watch only cost $740 plus tax!
