Well I still have an Ipad 4 and I really wouldn't mind one thats lighter, possible more speakers and just the other features like PiP and split with Twitch app and such. Also some more space doesn't hurt with some of the bigger games of few/several GB. It's just time for me.

I had this debate with myself when I bought the iPad Air 2 recently. I paid $125 less than what a new iPad Air would cost so I am totally satisfied with my purchase. It does everything I could want it to do.

Would be good. What about the iPad Air 1?
I never had the fourth gen iPad or the Air 1, but I didn't like how hollow the iPad Air felt and the fourth gen was just as big and heavy as the third.

But going off of what I know about them, I'd say Air 2 > Air > iPad 2 > iPad > 4 > 3.

I only consider the original iPad over the 3 and 4 because it was the first and I was still pretty blown away by it.

The Air 1 will be two generations behind, if/when they release the Air 3.
What does that have to do with him not upgrading from his Air 2? Lol

He has the current iPad Air, which is the iPad Air 2, right now and he barely uses it, so there's no point in him upgrading to the iPad Air 3. He'll barely use that, too.

True. I want generations 1-7 (of the 9" iPads). I'll have it complete soon. :) And yeah, I know what you mean. The Air 2 and air 1 I prefer the most.
[doublepost=1454012066][/doublepost]Why do I prefer the 9" iPad over the mini and the Pro?

There are so many different rumours and contradictions going around I have no idea what the Air 3 is going to have anymore. I am just hoping it has my wish list. Fingers crossed.

The only reason they did the iPad 3 and 4 so close together was to add the Lightning port. Nowadays, iPads are getting spec bumps only every 2 years.

Nope, the ipad4 was more than just the Lightning port, it was to address the ipad3's shortcomings.

Yo.

I might keep two iPads.

Just upgraded to the iPhone 6S 64GB & iPad Air 2 64GB last year coming from 5S 16GB & Mini 2 16GB.

I have enough processing power, storage & RAM to last me till my next upgrade to the iPhone 7S & iPad Air 4.

So, no. I won't be buying an iPad Air 3.

I will IF it is compatible with the pencil, and the device works as well as it does with the iPad Pro. Use the Mini 4 as my EDC device though.

The rumoured 4 speaker arrangement for true stereo audio is the feature most likely to tempt me to upgrade from my 128GB Air 2.

I'm not sure if it's enough to justify spending hundreds of pounds to upgrade over my Air 2 though...

1. If ipad comes out March, then it will not come out in oct.

2. Every ipad ever released was "just another ipad with (insert feature here)"

3. Its going to be better than the previous generation

4. Pro is not for everyone

5. 3gb or 4gb the mass won't notice a difference or care

6. Not everyone is jumping from a mini or an air 2

7. I literally can't wait to pre order one

I upgraded from a 3 to an air 2 and love it, but I probably won't upgrade. I will keep this one unless it has something major in the update. I bought my first mac last year and the iPhone 6s when it came out, so I need to let my wallet rest.

I'll most likely upgrade to the Air 3 (from the 4 as above mentioned), then Kaby Lake cpu, Pascal GPU, then with the new chipset a SSD upgrade (when possible), I'd like to get new case aswell, new monitor sometime, possible VR later in the year (see how and what first).

Gonna be pricy. :p
