I had a Oneplus One which was pretty big but manageable. That is the grey in this pic. 6 Plus is the black. iPhone is slightly taller and wider. I believe the OPO is larger than the note by a bit for comparison.

Check it out for yourself. The .2" of extra display room on the Note 3 means nothing. The 6 Plus is taller than the Note 3 so it is a larger device. It's Big! Why would I exaggerate? I am truly surprised at how large it is.

Not only is the 6 Plus bigger (taller) the screen size is also smaller - 5.5" vs. 5.7" on the Note 3.

I checked out a friend's Note 3 and I think it'll be fine. Yes, it's large and I'll probably be ridiculed but it's manageable sizewise.

It feels monstrous coming from 3.5" and 4.0" phones sure. But the size is becoming much more common place. Yes the 6+ is longer than the note 3, but as has been said the 6+ is narrower and thinner. I think those dimensions have a much more meaningful impact on holding the device than length. I've gone to the store and held the note 3. I've been practicing with my checkbook (the same width and almost the same length). And I've decided to go for the 6+. If I end up hating it I will just sell or return. No biggie :)

Just downloaded the templates for the 6 & 6+...and I call complete BS on the OP's saying the 6+ is a "monster". It's not at all. It's slimmer than a Note 3, and just a bit taller. I was all set to order the smaller phone, but the 6+ isn't bad. I'm pretty sure I'll get the 6+ when I upgrade.

Thanks RXDI.

davistld01, go on with calling BS on my claim.

Its really a matter of opinion. Though I will say adding a battery backup case or an otter box defender may be too much for some people that decide on that.

Sometimes 24 hours of talk time just isn't enough. lol! :)

Did they have another other cases? Thinking of picking up one early...

There are two from Apple, some from Otterbox and Spigen already. If you have a PLUS iPhone I'd get a slim case unless you really need the extra protection of the Defender Series from Otterbox or TOUGH series from Spigen. It just makes the phone incredibly thick.

I should add -- It seems a bit silly to me that Apple has such a drive to make these phones thinner (one dimension of a phone) yet from another dimension, it's being INCREASED. I understand why, obviously, but when you think about it a certain way, it does seem a bit silly that there is such a drive for thinness yet these things are actually GROWING from another dimension.

Bigger is always better

:apple:

You're right... just like the pricetag of the iPhone 6 plus. I almost got it just because the cost was bigger than the iPhone 6 and "bigger is always better"

Hah!

6+ all the way. Screw pockets, I'll be wearing it around my neck like flava flav. They should make an iClock so I can rock one like that. An iClock that syncs with my iPhone 6 huskey size.

I can't wait for my phablet. Everyone I know that has one loves theirs.

Isn't the Note 3 larger?

It's bigger. I took the cardboard template to the store. 6+ is taller by a decent amount. It's huge and I am convinced those who haven't fully put thought into this thinking this 6.07 ounce slab is going to be comfortable in a pocket - well... I think there will be far more returns of the 6+ than the 6.

Agreed. The home button has become so iconic I doubt they're going to get rid of it (or changing the shape/size) any time soon. Plus they insist on keeping the top and bottom bezels the same size (which is nice if you're holding the phone in landscape mode). If and when they get rid of the home button it's going to look like every other Android phone out there and I'm sure that's also something Apple is mindful of.

Yep. I don't really care what direction they go in with it -- I'm no smartphone expert, just a lowly customer... BUT... I will say that I'm not too keen on the large-screened phones, personally.

In other news, I just re-read my last post that you quoted and I said the exact same things two times in a row. I'm going to go get some more caffeine.

The goal should be to fit a big screen on as small a package as possible. However the trend seems to be to start out with large bezels and then shrink them later down the road and use it as a selling point. Either the screen gets bigger while the footprint remains the same or the device gets smaller while the screen size stays the same.
