For real world use?

Ive had a mess about with it like everyone else, but not really used it yet in the real world.

I really wanted it to use in my car, but unfortunately I drive a 10 year old clio, so theres a lot of background noise. I basically have to shout for it to make moderate sense when composing a message. I usually just give up after 5 tries..

I've been using Siri a bit. Used it to text, set a timer, set an alarm, etc. And I've just been messing around with it too.

For what I thought was going to be a novelty feature, I actually have been using it to text people while I'm driving quite a bit the last few days.

Been using it to dictate most of my messages and emails. And also, to set alarms and create calendar events.

To be honest, its fairly worthless. Its good for parlor tricks and not much more.

I've been using Siri and it works well for most questions, but if I ask it for something about a local business, for example, where is the nearest pizza restaurant, it always replies that Siri is not able to give information for businesses outside the US and also something about using only the UK voice.
It works very well for other sorts of questions.
Is anyone else in the UK having this problem?
Is there a solution?

Hard to say, I'm still in the honeymoon stage where I'm using it for alot of stuff. I'll have to wait a week to see if I actually use it regularly.

I use it (her) for send txt, reading txt and setting reminders and calendar appts. Also fun to find the easter eggs

I have actually been using Siri, for the things Siri does best. Reminders, alarms (love that I can tell her to wake me up in... and she does the math for when to set the alarm), and some occasional music controls (asking what song this is, or to skip). Being able to ask quickly what events I have on my calendar for random days is quite nice as well. I haven't had much occasion to use the maps very much this weekend, but I think she'll be useful there too, and the Yelp info is nice. Oh, and I do ask her about the weather, specifically the hourly reports. Yeah, I could go into my many weather apps, but it's not as quick.

Basically whenever something is easier said than done, I just say it. I'm looking forward to Siri having access to more databases and apps, should be interesting how she evolves.

Using it for reminders and calendar events mostly and if I already have it up I use it to check my email. Surprised how well it understands my voice. Siri is a huge time saver for me, I hope there are some updates soon that increase the functionality even more.

I find I function faster just typing or using the relevant apps, but Siri is definitely fun to play with :).

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

I use it a lot actually. Mostly in the car but for setting an alarm and reminders, it's speed can't be beat.

I spent a lot of time in the car yesterday and I found Siri to be freaking awesome and useful. I sent texts, wrote myself a note, and set a few reminders. The reminders location settings worked and I would have actually forgotten what I needed if the app didn't remind me as I was leaving my house.

Siri and reminders is a great combo- I suspect in a week I will have forgotten how I was living without them.

I use it

Works great for me, nice for direction or finding the closest restaurants. Asking Siri homework questions for the kids equals, no need to get up from the football game.

I use it when I listen to music. It's great to have the phone in my pocket and just tell it to play something.

I've been using it and will probably continue using it. The only thing is here in the UK it doesn't support location based services yet unlike the US so it's kind of limited. When those are eventually enabled it will probably get used a lot more.

I've also found Siri very useful. Like a lot of others have said, it's great for setting reminders, alarms, texts, calling and especially while in the car.
